The longer I do this work and the longer the world burns, the more I think therapy cannot continue to be practiced as it has been.

I mean, at the deepest, most fundamental level, it must change to integrate a new reality.

Idk all these faerie porn novels the BookTok girlies are into just seem like an elaborate plot by the daoine maithe to groom willing victims of leannáin sídhe.

Psychology’s core function under late-stage capitalism is to promote quietism and self-blame in order to quell that growing sense we all feel that something is deeply wrong and we should all come together to do something about it

As a Jew, I've always worried that "Never Again" would mean "Never Again TO US," but it's wild to see someone just come right out and say that.
Sharing the video of this because it’s such a ghoulish thing to say that I’m honestly in disbelief that I even heard her properly

That Trump clip that’s doing the rounds is so like my father was, I felt it viscerally.

The raging stare, the snarl, the humiliation directed at her body.
Everyone behaving like this is just normal.

It’s relieving to see people have a strong reaction to it tbh.

Meanwhile when the Sisters of Our Lady Of Charity kindly handed the former Magdalene Laundry on Sean McDermott St back to the State, they hung on to the car park, so they will financially benefit from whatever memorial is eventually put there to the women they enslaved.
'“This is the first land rematriation by Catholic sisters in the history of the country,” Koteles said. “They're setting a precedent for the largest private landowner in the world—the Catholic Church—and that's a huge invitation to healing...”'

Really disappointed with Lidl Ireland. They've stopped allowing exchange of points for vouchers till the new year, so no getting any Christmas stuff with your points. I'm sure I'm not the only one that saved them up for Christmas, lots will be more in need of them than I am. Really mean spirited.

These Dáil speeches by the coalition licking Paschal's hole are hard to listen to.

"Ireland's loss is the world's gain" & talking about how he steered the Irish economy to prosperity & stability.

Prosperity for who? Stability for who?

The arrogance of it.

I know this all looks completely normal to the pol corrs but to the rest of us, it can look like a guy who followed orders, fucked his country but looked after the institutions, and is now being rewarded for his obedience.

I struggle to find much in here that Ireland hasn’t tortured pregnant people with in the past.

One of the pluses of being post-menopausal is that all the worst people couldn’t give a shit about my body anymore.

Solidarity with women and afab folk in the US.

Thoughts on shame in therapy:

Ime, most psychodynamically trained therapists have been taught to explore the early origins of the client’s pain when expressed toward the therapist.

But importantly, I and many others were not taught that the client’s reaction also belongs in the here and now.
