Back in November you only had two choices for candidates.

Thinking you had a larger selection, including not voting at all, is a reflection of your pride, ignorance, privilege (real or perceived), or some combination of the three.

Mamdani: Oftentimes when we win elections, we tell people to go home and just trust us. But the message really has to be that we want you to come along with us… That’s something we’ve been looking to share with New Yorkers: We want to not only win with New Yorkers, but also govern with New Yorkers.

An inependent review of medical evidence on trans youth healthcare found substantial evidence of benefit, and no evidence of harm.

This was one of our top stories this year. Legacy news, who extensively covered a review finding the opposite, ignored this.

Plentiful Data, No Regret: What the Utah Review on Youth Trans Care Found — Assigned
A 1,000-page report by the College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah, which found care safe and effective, stands out from others: It’s both independent and an actual review of the evidence.

When you go through the evidence laid out in our report, it’s clear that JPMC should face criminal investigation for the way it enabled Epstein’s horrific crimes. I'll keep following the money until we get justice and those that enabled his atrocities are held accountable.

I can see this in my own extended family. It's soul crushing, frankly, to see people who are perfectly capable of morality and decency willfully take leave of that decency to indulge in the worst parts of themselves through Trump.

Total federal spending is up +7% in 2025 over 2024 year-to-date to Oct 20.

The story that the fed govt is tightening its belt is contradicted by its own real-time expenditure data. Admin spectacularly hammering some things but raising spending elsewhere.

Was -7% just after Inauguration Day.

Hear hear, a lot of motherfuckers over here talking shit about this movement “it wont work bla bla bla” fuck those cucks.

Fox focused on how AOC called Stephen “Herr Goebbels” Miller a 4’10” little man (he’s far shorter than that mentally), and how she was dressed up like a sorority girl, instead of this section right here.

Essentially, it's not that the US isn't a surveillance state, they're just so unbelievably good at it that most people never even noticed. Everyone was too busy looking at other countries, which was likely by design. Security cameras are rather primitive in comparison to modern surveillance. 8/8

Another feature of 1940s politics is that the south was one of the strongest bastions of anti-Nazi sentiment while the upper Midwest/Plains was loaded with isolationist nutjobs. Like Carl Vinson was an evil bastard but he did actually hate Nazis.

I understand the notion that 4th Amendment search rules do not apply as a condition of entry. But the idea that you "have no constitutional rights at point of entry" suggests you could be summarily executed at the border with no legal restraints or accountability.
“I told them I was an American citizen. I questioned why they were using those tactics on me. I asked about my constitutional rights. An officer outright said out loud that I have no constitutional rights at a point of entry,” says Wilmer Chavarria, a school superintendent in Vermont.

I feel compelled to say yet again that abstaining from voting for Palestinian issues was almost unbelievably dumb and self-centered. It both contributed to worse harm in Palestine—which will likely no longer exist next election—and sent the opposite message intended in domestic politics
Fascinating survey data on the missing Biden voters by Lake Research. The voters who sat out in '24 weren't looking for a centrist or turned off by trans rights. They want a genuine economic populist agenda: take on corporate greed, lower costs, and make the wealthy pay their fair share.

With this budget, ICE alone would have nearly as large a detention operation as all 50 states' prison systems combined. Bigger budget than the Marine Corps. Police-state levels of spending
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.
