The annual darkness is my favorite time so I'm all about my Happy Lamp. I use it at least five days a week for about half the year.
I live in a Vitamin D Supplement area; the sun's angle is too low here from approx. Sept to April to absorb its rays of joy. So I appreciate my Happy Lamp 🌞

My 3rd grade class in Fort Yukon got to do a field trip to set and then check muskrat traps. Then we had muskrat stew.
Farm to table.....we had that back in grade school in the 70's in Alaska. This is Mary, our school cook that served us traditional foods. Moose stew, smoked salmon strips or smoked salmon mixed with seal oil and spread on PilotBoy Crackers, beaver and muskrat soup, snow geese or duck.
