The latest reported snow depth at the Juneau Airport is 37". This is higher than any of the 6-hour snow depths in the ASOS era (2001-present) and larger than any of the once daily values since March 11, 1972. @alaska.bsky.social @alaskawx.bsky.social

I was in the same IMAX showing of “The Magnificent Seven (2016)” in Anchorage as Alaska Native actor (and one of the seven) Martin Sensmeier. His whole family was there to cheer when his name came up and then he arrived. Truly the only thing I remember about that movie.
Saw Ted Danson going thru security with us at Anchorage airport
I nearly bumped into Joshua Jackson as he exited a Subway.

Update on previous post: I rescued my snow shovel from the shed and put it in my car so I'll always have it on hand. Now my car is buried under three feet of snow.

So over these wild winds. One neighbor's roof has blown off, another's greenhouse is in the road, stuff has blown everywhere. At least power was only out for hours instead of days like last week. These 70 and 80 mile an hour wind gusts are brutal. And relentless. #AlaskaSky

Something to think about when Voting. USPS changed postmark rules. Mail may now be postmarked days after you drop it off, based on when it’s processed at a sorting facility not when mailed. This can affect deadlines. Mail early or ask for a hand postmark, certified mail, or proof of mailing.

Juneau, AK, is currently 2.5" shy of their December monthly snowfall record. The current forecast shows 4"-8" through the end of the month. So there's a pretty decent chance that they will break the monthly record. @alaska.bsky.social @alaskawx.bsky.social
