Apparently when you spend all week in meetings with JD Vance and Stephen Miller, the charismatic Muslim communist you want to deport is a breath of fresh air.

I can’t quite put it into words, but Trump praising Mamdani on the same day that MTG resigns in opposition to “big Tech, big Pharma, the war complex and big donors” feels like a harbinger of realignment.

There is a political earthquake trembling beneath the surface waiting to break through.

The TX-18 seat will be filled by a Dem in a run-off (between 2 Dems) on 1/31/26. The special election in TX-7 is 12/2/25. The special in NJ-11 is 4/16/26. If both NJ-11 (likely) and TX-7 (stretch) go Dem, then in April the chamber will be 218-216 until MTG's seat is filled

Huh — Marjorie Taylor Greene says she doesn't want "to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms. And in turn, be expected to defend the President against impeachment after he…tried to destroy me."

…Any reason she assumes Trump will soon be impeached?

man, this is such a good point -- Mamdani might be the first happy, well-adjusted person Trump has seen in weeks
everyone's talking about how bright and charming zohran must be, which is true, but then you remember the spider-brained cryptkeepers trump's surrounded himself with since '15 and realize a single smile from mamdani must have hit like barbecue spare ribs down the gullet of a 12th century peasant.

"We’re living today with the consequences of erring too heavily on the side of norms. Cong. Dems. deprioritized oversight. Garland did not investigate Trump right out the gate, and Biden did not call on him to prioritize the coup ringleaders in his investigations."

D's cant run same plays again.
I *think* the attempt to speedrun authoritarianism has failed. The new acute danger is greater political violence (Trump calling for hangings, etc). But the concerted danger is down the line, when MAGA realizes the bill for all this corruption will come due. www.offmessage.net/p/maga-disar...

The partisan divide has grown, too. The wealthiest 100 tended to give more to Republicans than to Democrats before last year. But giving to the GOP spiked in 2024, with *84%* of donations going to back Republicans or conservative PACs.

Minnesota has been shaken to its core by political violence this year. We know first hand that rhetoric like this has real life consequences.

Everyone should call this out for what it is - the sitting president calling for deaths of Members of Congress. This is what dictators do.

Ignore the performative, disingenuous cries of "antisemitism" Trump & GOP have so cynically used as a political shield. Look instead at what they're actually doing: www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas, nooses as hate symbols
The military service, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, has drafted a new policy that classifies such items “potentially divisive.”

Let me tell you about the other Epstein files the Trump administration is STILL HIDING — records that aren’t affected by the bill Congress passed today.

I think we definitely can’t know if this is true. But I think it’s something that COULD happen, and if I were a Republican, I’d lie in fear of it every night. If Latinos swing hard as a bloc, you’re boned up and down the ballot until you fix it somehow
I agree. What he’s doing with ICE is creating a generational Latino hatred of the GOP and they will never vote Republican again.
