It's really weird (it's not really weird) how states that ban abortions are also states where women can't get leave to take care of their children.

I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️‍🌈💖

While Billy Dee is still alive, I think they really need to do a Lando movie. Like, have him sitting around the card table with the ladies telling tales, and Donald Glover can act them out AND THEY DON'T NECESSARILY MATCH!

Facebook hadn’t opened up to state colleges yet when I was a freshman and it was a big deal when it happened.
Reskeet with how old you are using a vague proxy:

I used Zip Disks in college.

So many university math textbooks do this and it will never not be funny.
love to read an academic book and discover that big chunks of it are dedicated to refuting the arguments of the author's enemies. i'm not smart enough to tell who's right so i just root for whoever i'm reading right now. "go off king" i shout as he eviscerates their methods

I have learned so much about green everything from Dr. Volts’ podcast. It’s great!
What's kind of amazing is that we're actually living through a huge technology revolution where our entire power grid is being replaced by solar panels and battery storage and you hear less about it in the press than you did about the totally fake "tech" of NFTs

Unfortunately I am a 5-8 Club partisan. I wouldn’t call a place with faded Vikings merch, burned out beer lights, and meat raffle tickets like a TGI Fridays, but everyone should read this anyway.

When we say “tech guys need the humanities too” we’re not talking about diluting the pool of Linus Torvalds with underwater basket weavers, we’re talking about arming them with enough literacy to comprehend Sci-Fi in a way that doesn’t get them sued by Scarlett Johansson

Oh, PLEASE.
Hardly anyone in Colorado is a native. It’s a nice place to live with good prospects.
Wolves, too.
"Genetic testing confirmed the wolf came from gray wolf populations in the Great Lakes region, more than 1,000 miles away from where it ended up in Colorado, officials said."

Wolf found over 1,000 miles from home in Colorado, feds say. How remains a mystery
The wolf was not one of the 10 wolves reintroduced to Colorado at the end of last year, officials said.

Great chant. Short, very clear, rhymes, makes the cops look very dumb.
denver students chanting “i don’t see a riot here. why are you in riot gear?” at the cops assembled

“Cool those Jets” is also what I, a Colorado Avalanche fan, was shouting at the TV last night as well 😅
Just did a radio interview in Winnipeg about Planet Nine. Segment before me was the garden report. In case you missed it, it is NOT yet time to take those annuals out of the greenhouse in Winnipeg: "simmer down on the annuals. Cool those jets." Let's keep it together, garden people.

You've probably been wondering: "How many eels is a cottage worth in 14th C. England?"

This is a reasonable question. I get it.  And happily, I'm here to help! I included a chart showing this kind of equivalence in an article I wrote for History Extra, but here's an excerpt!
