Sports betting is all over the news lately. Reminds me of the time my administration “negotiated” a $215 million no-bid contract to operate a sports gambling app that generated 1/20 of promised revenues and didn’t work for an entire Super Bowl.

This sounds like a deeply unpleasant shopping experience.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

Giving public space to restaurants and cafes and community gathering is really great, actually! Cities a fraction of the size of DC have incredible public spaces - even though private businesses are allowed to use some of that space in a regulated manner - but the result is a more dynamic city!

Walked by the White House today. Saw what appeared to be two tall excavators still at work. It’s hard to see from the street, but this article shows how the new ballroom will likely dwarf the White House.

Trump’s new 90,000-square-foot White House ballroom would be almost as large as the rest of the complex.

I liked the Platner ads too but I think there's a difference between "guy who had some bad reddit posts a decade ago" and "ex-Blackwater merc who still has a Nazi tattoo." Sucks bigtime that he's the only one taking positions and talking policy I like, but them's the breaks!

Totally on board with the spirit of this idea. In practice, how do these costumes not get completely disgusting?
Y’all here is a fun fact: Portland has a brand new volunteer organization called “operation inflation” that allows people to borrow inflatable costumes for protests. They just started a couple weeks ago and have like a 160 costume library (and counting because people keep donating).
