25 years ago, the WNBA was an infant league that had crowned only one champion. Pat Summitt ruled over college basketball. And the USA Olympic dynasty was just beginning.

This will not scratch the exact same itch but it's not far off -- if you are looking for something to watch on HBO now that you've (re-)watched Heated Rivalry, I big recommend Starstruck. It's a rom-com in the very best ways.

I spent a day in an airport with David Byrne after our flight from Austin to Newark was diverted to Raleigh due to a snowstorm. We sat next to each other with one seat between us and chatted on and off until we each got on a different flight to the NYC area. He was very nice.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

not too late for a flu shot btw, flu historically often peaks in february and by all accounts it is pretty bad this year
Flu deaths exceeded COVID deaths last winter and we may be on track for the same thing this year!
I can speak anecdotally that at the hospital I work at we’ve had very low covid census. We test anyone experiencing respiratory symptoms, and we’ve had very few people with Covid who have needed to be hospitalized. Which is a relief because we are absolutely inundated with flu rn

I’m going to do this because in 2025, I finally finished and defended my dissertation and graduated with my doctorate (at the age of 44!) and I still sometimes forget that I did it, I’m done!!
Quote this with what you have accomplished in 2025, no matter how big or small
Reading & writing has kept me alive this year.

Somehow, it’s been my most productive year as an author.

feels like at some point if there are still books being written, the one about how all of these supposedly very savvy business leaders simply said “you’ve got a bag of magic beans? take my cow, please” when it was offered to them will be a particularly humiliating one
The exec that said "we thought it was farther along then it was" is absolutely the greatest issue right now. Not only is it not capable of doing any of these things on a broad scale, it will do them significantly worse than any employee. Going all in on something to boost stock value that fails.
Honestly im shocked
