I’m going to take a break from Bluesky (first one!) so I can be more present and not dread every waking moment. I’m marrying my dream girl in less than 3 months, that’s pretty cool! I’ll be back sometime soon. When? I don’t know. What the hell will have happened by then? I don’t know.

I can’t speak for NYC but whenever I’m on a turnpike, I love how fast it is, how nice the rest stops are, and the flawless road conditions. I don’t know what funds that? Must be all private donations from billionaires who love our Beautiful Commuters.
BREAKING: The Trump administration, cloaking itself in the mantle of concern for the "working class," has withdrawn federal approval for congestion pricing, cutting funding for billions of dollars in repairs to the NYC region's lifeblood transit system.

Of course it doesn't matter that congestion pricing was working, as this is part of the broader program of theatrically wrecking shit as part of the broader campaign against any new thing. But it was working incredibly well.

The balance in politics is Republicans acting mad when there's nothing to be mad about and Democrats acting calm when they should be screaming their heads off.

I think what I find so repellent about the far-right is the sheer nihilism at its core. For all the talk of culture and identity, they are just flimsy masks strapped over, in Arendt's words "the intoxication of destruction as an actual experience, dreaming the stupid dream of producing the void.”

Guy who has only watched the run-up to the Iraq War, watching the run-up to a war with Canada: Canadians, especially Albertans, will greet us as liberators and they can use the oil from the tar sands to fund their own reconstruction.

These barely-sentient people who believe deranged stuff like “we should make Canada the 51st state so they can vote for us” must be purged from the Democrat party.

I did something personally unthinkable and cheered for Canada on Saturday and will Thursday. I know for a fact many of the American players proudly support Trump. They support his bullying of Canada. They can play dumb all they want regarding the booing, but they know why, and fuck them.

whenever my cat complains about me not feeding him more than three times a day I have developed a habit of showing him great works of art that depict suffering (The Pieta, The Rape of Lucretia, The Fall of Nineveh) and explain in detail how his own pain greatly exceeds that depicted

Brian Gibbs had no clue Friday would be his last day at his dream job. The education technician park ranger at Effigy Mounds National Monument in Iowa reported to work, only to be terminated on despite receiving an exceptional performance evaluation in the fall.
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I strongly agree with Donald Trump,” said former Representative Steve Israel of New York, who headed the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Canada is largely left of center, and making it the 51st state means more Democrats”. STOP THIS.
Canada as the 51st state? Trump thinks it would be a boon to his legacy. But it would also be a boon to Democrats, who would gain a lot more voters. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/17/u...

Probably you noticed this if you remain on X, but the site's algorithm was adjusted in July to make Musk's voice the dominant feature of the entire ecosystem. It changed the 2024 race.

A lot of extremely credulous people denied this was happening for years. Journalists sticking up for fox when Obama criticized them. So many useful idiots for the fascist takeover
Watters: We are waging a 21st century information warfare campaign from the left…It's like grassroots guerrilla warfare. Someone says something on social media, Musk retweets it, Rogan podcasts it, Fox broadcasts it.. and by the time it reaches everybody, millions of people have seen it.

The only article that any newspaper should be writing about the potential annexation of Canada is "Annexing Canada would be a war crime on the scale of Hitler invading Poland, which would be the duty of every American to resist"
