Václav Nestrašil was thought to be somewhat of a project draft pick for the Blackhawks and someone who might need time to transition to college hockey. He still needs to develop, but he's already further along than expected.

Taunting is the dumbest penalty in sports. Guys are out there beating the shit out of each other, but "Fifteen yards for being a big meanie!"

Brutal blow for the Blackhawks, who will be without their top two centers — and the two centerpieces of the rebuild — for a while.

As the Blackhawks' promising season starts to slip away, @scottpowers.bsky.social takes a look at who could be waiting for them at the top of the draft:

As Blackhawks’ playoff hopes slide, is it time to turn attention to draft lottery again?
Chicago's outlook has changed for the season, and the thought of it joining the NHL Draft Lottery conversation again isn't far off.

The Blackhawks have gone 3-10-2 in their last 15 games. With that, the top of the Central has left them behind and their playoff chances have fallen.

They could be headed towards another top-5 pick. An early look at that possibility⤵️ www.nytimes.com/athletic/690...

The Blackhawks' line of Oliver Moore, Ryan Greene and Nick Lardis is tied for the youngest in the NHL. It's an exciting trio, but one that'll learn some hard lessons. @scottpowers.bsky.social has the story from Montreal:
