Folks see "copyright" and only think it means Disney and Warner Brothers, not authors and artists who rely on sales to pay their electrical bill.
I’ve seen quite a lot of dumb arguments on this site but today the absolute dumbest is someone arguing that AI companies should get to use copyrighted materials for free to sell their products for a profit because copyright holders are just “landlords” and don’t deserve payment.
