Wary of opining on this for obvious reasons, I don't think people who scream racist abuse in the street are that interested in your migration status.

I can reassure the New York Times that networks of mutual protection, and misogynist retaliation efforts that benefit abusive men at the expense of the young women they prey upon, are very much still intact post-Me Too.

Yes! They have rebuilt their entire psyches around the idea that you are their enemy, and so they feel absolutely no obligation to behave consistently or fairly or in good faith. Words are weapons for them. They’ll protest their supposed persecution, then turn around and persecute you with violence.
Whatever label you apply to them - "alt-right," "far-right," "neo-fascists," "right wing populists" - it's important to understand that they lie constantly as a means to an end and will use any and all concessions to them to censor and restrict their enemies so that they can come out on top.

There are many highly politically engaged men in our society who are lusting for opportunities to create a bloodbath that they feel is righteous.
We cannot move forward or escape this nightmare until mainstream figures finally admit that there are many, many people on the right - including some of its most powerful voices - who are openly seeking violence and tyranny and exploit every situation to move it closer.
