Diagnosed autism is telling people you're autistic and everyone being confused because you look "completely normal"

The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

I find it horrifying how many people support the two-child benefit cap, knowing that it forces children to live in poverty. Sometimes the voters are morally dreadful and you need to ignore them

I literally think Mamdani went “you know, there was actually a President so popular that people kept electing him more than two terms” and Trump was like no way tell me how he did it
Trump posts:

“It was a Great Honor meeting Zohran Mamdani, the new Mayor of New York City!”

He included multiple photos of Mamdani in front of the portrait of FDR that Mamdani spoke with Trump about during his visit.

It seems highly likely we'll have a hard-right government next. Labour is spending the parliament before that not only making itself spectacularly unpopular but also bringing in biometric ID cards, monitoring online behaviour, and undermining human rights protections. At least make it hard for them!

One mystery of Keir Starmer is: why is a man who does things like this, who writes handwritten notes to people he worked with but didn't know well, or for people he met briefly in the CPS, quite *SO* bad at talking to and cultivating MPs?

There was an old tweet that stuck with me: "If you can easily walk to the coffee shop but your barista has a one hour commute, you don't live in a walkable 15 minute city; you live in a theme park"
as someone who lives nextdoor to both supportive housing and public housing, i need people to understand that the best locations for both are going to be the central neighborhoods in a metropolitan area, where there is easy and reliable access to services and jobs.

Honestly, the most shocking thing about Trump II isn’t Trump himself so much as the fact that like three people in the country actually believe things and the other 350 million just kinda bandwagon with whichever one is winning at any given moment.
Apparent Joe Rogan wants in on the "due process is good actually" audience now, which tells you which way the wind is blowing.
Joe Rogan explains to his audience why due process is important and quotes Ben Franklin — "it is better 100 guilty persons should escape than that one innocent person should suffer.”

He argues against shipping people to a prison in El Salvador without trial because we think they’re gang members.

Look, we can all list twenty times “woke” was annoying at some time or another. But the fact I think “Woke” ruined Dragon Age is totally irrelevant right now because 1.6 million Africans got their AIDS meds taken away and Africans are people whereas Dragon Age is a video game franchise about elves.
I get your point, but I think these people should have to provide examples.

Another big takeaway is we’re all paying the price for anti-woke hysteria. This will be the first recession that can be traced back to people freaking out about pronouns
Since tariffs, I noticed a surprising trend: elite Trump supporters saying they might have made a mistake. So I asked them what they were thinking, both in November and today.

One big takeaway: they thought Elon was actually competent. That error proved catastrophic.

After the tariffs, they’re worried they made a MAGA mistake.
