Welp, after years of planning, pots of dedicated funding, promises that despite other elements getting yanked from the plans that sidewalk repairs were still on the table, the only sidewalk on LWB that got repaved this year was the segment right in front of Bruce's house.

There’s a moment in the classic film “Paths of Glory” in which an artillery officer, told to commit a war crime, asks for the order in writing.

That is happening right now, in real life, among US troops in the Carribbean.

Except in the movie, the demand kept the crime from happening.

If we had to hear “Baby Shark” everywhere we went for two whole months out of the year we’d throw a fit, right?

And rightfully so.

So tell me, why do we put up with it when the song is “Frosty the Snowman”?

A rural Tennessee county central to the civil rights movement is more than a quarter Black.

But its 19-member county commission? All white.

Facing VRA lawsuits, the county leaders agreed to redraw the maps ahead of the 2026 midterms.

A big win... except SCOTUS may soon undermine it all:

The Supreme Court may further erode the Voting Rights Act in an upcoming decision. Beyond affecting Congress, that would reverberate across local governments nationwide.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

West Coast cities have an ongoing housing crisis despite the continued existence of Iowa.
Unquestionably, California needs more housing. But there are, in fact, jobs outside of California. The vast majority of them, in fact.
Dude, stop doubling down on this. It’s not true at all.

We’re seeing housing prices outpace wages and inflation, where homebuyers are trending older and older. In places like California and in large cities (where the jobs are) it’s nearly impossible for younger people to buy anything anymore

We need to return to the 92% top marginal tax rates of the Eisenhower administration not because we need the wealthy's money but because we need them to have less of it.

(Though perhaps more importantly, we need to tax proceeds from loans collateralized by unrealized gains as regular income.)
The richest 100 Americans gave $1.1B to the 2024 election. For comparison, between 2000 and 2010, they spent an average of $21 million on federal elections.
