Realizing now that I'm woefully unprepared. Do I jump on the bus and head over to Capitol Hill? What do I pack in my go-bag?
When it happens…it is essential—for what remains of America’s standing in the world—that we celebrate in the streets.

We don't actually need cars on the diagonal streets.
My favorite solution to this intersection: Delete Green Lake Way from Stone to 46th. It causes more problems for every road user than it solves. Yes, even car drivers. Then restore the street grid and using the reclaimed public land for housing.

I love architects. They are like "I can Fix Society if I just make the Right Shape of building" it's adorable and sad

Balducci is so good at her job.
Well, there's at least one member of the King County Council thinking about the future of RapidRide and the fact that we've gotten much slower at delivering transit upgrades intended to increase frequency, speed, and reliability.

My three main projects this year are:

1. McClure School Street and "School Streets 3.0"
2. Crockett Plaza and "a pedestrian plaza in the heart of every neighborhood"
3. Shared Streets enabling legislation and rollout
I have a few advocacy projects for next year but a big one is to improve Seattle's School Streets program. Currently, a "school street" in Seattle generally looks like this.

Rep. Davina Duerr @davina425.bsky.social is presenting the bill in the House Transportation Committee at the moment.

There is much to be grateful for today: it’s sunny, my bulbs are sprouting, and Nathan Vass is driving my bus route.

I would like to see a Seattle Center better woven into the fabric of its adjacent neighborhoods: Uptown, Belltown, and South Lake Union. Climate Pledge Arena has a thoughtful front door facing Uptown but the other institutions either turn their backs or present a driveway or load zone.
Seattle Center is fraying. Will the city pick up the billion-dollar tab?
Bigger crowds and aging facilities add urgency to proposals for repairing and sprucing up Seattle Center. But there’s stiff competition for taxpayers’ money.

I’m not the biggest sports fan but it would be nice if the Seahawks could give Mayor Wilson a Super Bowl win right out of the gate.

It's amazing that bus lanes on Denny Way were impossible but now Katie Wilson is mayor and suddenly physics and geometry work different.

Sharing this short HS2 project update for my fellow American friends. I believe high speed rail is necessary and inevitable in America but this gives a sense of the massive effort and investment required to build it.

I'm curious how many people we expect to be killed by cars on streets that don't have cars. Why isn't pedestrianization one of @seattledot.bsky.social's countermeasures?
