Congratulations to @linforseattle.bsky.social on winning the City Council District 2 seat! SE Seattle needs a champion for safe streets and affordable housing, and it got one!
CM Rinck’s proposed changes recognize we are in a housing crisis, and are what we need to make real progress to transform our City to make it
more dense, walkable, accessible and climate-friendly.
NEW: The full list of amendments to Seattle's Comp Plan are set to drop Monday, but we have a preview of @alexis4seattle.bsky.social's proposed changes:
-Restoring 8 entire neighborhood centers
-Removing parking mandates
-Allowing corner stores everywhere

Hope everyone is okay.

Surface running light rail in the Rainier Valley was a shortsighted mistake that we pay for in injuries and delays.
Columbia City and Othello stations are closed until further notice due to a collision.

1 Line service to and from both stations is suspended. Trains are still running from Lynnwood to Mount Baker, and from Rainier Beach to Angle Lake.

URGENT BOLLARD ALERT.

SDOT is going to the Pike Place Market Historical Commission next Wednesday to get initial guidance on the "physical protective barriers" planned ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

The board is getting its temperature taken on a "hybrid approach" of bollards and vehicle barricades.

One additional benefit is that these corner corrals also provide a space for bike and scooter share parking that is off the sidewalk — helping reduce issues with sidewalks getting blocked from improperly parked vehicles. See images from the U District. So a win for accessibility too. A win-win-win

🔹 Failure to curb car bloat
🔹 Continuing to spend fed $$ on highway expansions that won't fix congestion
