This is actually good spin, or would have been. But the fact that the Democratic cave happened without even a coordinated, agreed-upon message like this indicates the depth of the leadership void.

Definitely in the running for one of Ron Moore’s best scripts. There’s a great speech from Kor about aging, and also one of Worf’s best scenes, about the legend of Davy Crockett and how he died at the Alamo.

I like that the producers are now going full Annie Wilkes about their own decision, and every response to this is people going “I don’t give a shit, just pretend it didn’t happen.”
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

It's very simple. The next film should be about four Bonds: a cyborg one, a bloke in a suit of armour with a big hammer, a teenage one who's cloned from the DNA of Bond and Blofeld, and a fascist one that's secretly an artifact from Bond's homeworld.
Then the real one should come back with a mullet.

Is it that hard to just start writing in a new continuity?

It’s wild to suggest this is a circular firing squad or something when it’s millions of citizen Democrats who hate it versus 47 elected Democrats who conspired to surrender for nothing.

We’re not fighting “each other,” we’re fighting you. There’s only a few dozen of you, but you hold all the power.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

Every Democratic claim that some future event will turn the tide just sounds like Calvin reasoning that if he goes 2 hours into the future, he can get his completed assignment without having to do it.

What’s the victory going to be here? The prez & speaker both precisely said in 4K they’re gonna kill ACA now you have zero leverage. Your leadership gave up the one chance you had to back the people on not just this but ICE raids, dissolution of the Constitution, & targeting of political opponents.
That December vote is a huge moment we can turn into a victory. People are watching. Good bill, we win; they cheat, they will lose. If we fight united.

This isn't "internal recriminations." It's voters expressing overwhelming opposition to what the people they elected to represent them are doing, and anyone--either in journalism or politics--who characterizes it as infighting is either not seeing and hearing what's right in front of them or lying.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

The most feckless members of your caucus can’t hide behind this after betraying everyone who stuck their necks out.

You want us to unify? Sacrifice your weakest. Throw Schumer and Durbin to the wolves in the name of unity and we can talk.

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

I am so eager for a generation of Democratic politicians who have no institutional memory of what Republicans were like before Bush.

Give me the ones who call Cheney "Darth Vader" thanks to The Daily Show, who saw their old relatives stand with a man who said "grab them by the pussy."

Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.
