A preview of what this December vote holds….

Every Democratic claim that some future event will turn the tide just sounds like Calvin reasoning that if he goes 2 hours into the future, he can get his completed assignment without having to do it.

THIS is how I find out that ALL'S FAIR was co-created by the guy who's West Wing was "shot almost word for word?"

This is what happens when Kevin Biegel doesn't come over to Bluesky, our cultural history of WGA-related in-jokes dies.

Post you from a different era.

This coincides with that brief period where Bob Dole had cool cred as an Election 2000 correspondent for THE DAILY SHOW.

I shall correct my poor memory. Alan Napier did not in fact exact revenge on Otto Preminger… but he could have.

This is from THE OFFICIAL BATMAN BATBOOK, the first TV show companion I owned.

That creepy SVU rapist who kidnapped and tortured Benson in a story that for some reason had to be a two-parter has just endorsed Andrew Cuomo

The Rapist Kid from 13 Reasons Why just endorsed Andrew Cuomo

This tweet is actually from the next day, but four years ago today was the first time I was on-set for something I wrote as a professional. My director was the amazing Diana Valentine, one of the absolute best at what she does.

I was there! I miss those shows!

Reminder that NEVER SLEEP AGAIN, the incredible FOUR HOUR documentary on the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET series is available for free on Tubi!

All 8 films get their due in this documentary. No stone unturned

This was the first time the JLA lineup was Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter

It sent a message - this was a big deal. Howard Porter did the pencils. And the book quickly was one of DC's top titles.

You can't have a peak without a nadir.

This happens AGAIN in the very next issue as Cap actually uses the term “pro-active” in reference to their motivations.

And then two issues later, the book goes out with a whimper following an underwhelming battle with the Legion of Doom
October 30, 2025 at 10:04 PM
The Wonder Twins return, and for large chunks of the issue, the dialogue is written in Interlac. This was a code DC used in a couple of books (mostly Legion related) and it’s a real pain when you don’t have the cipher on-hand.

Also Cap again alludes to the book’s directionless of late
October 30, 2025 at 10:01 PM
And from here on out, the book is pretty unremarkable. Booster Gold FINALLY gets a not-terrible suit. It doesn’t last long before it’s destroyed in SUPERMAN 124, written by Booster’s creator Dan Jurgens.

EJ also starts teasing the SUPER FRIENDS’ foes, the Legion of Doom.
October 30, 2025 at 9:57 PM
He also FINALLY gives us movement in the thread about Booster being trapped in his shitty suit.

And he develops the Monarch origin some more, revealing he is the real Nathanial Adam and Captain Atom is basically a quantum clone created by the accident he THOUGHT gave him his powers

Washington decided to play a flirtation between Amazing Man and Maxima, who’ve mostly floundered in the book so far.

I’m STILL not sure what to make of this dynamic but at least it feels different
October 30, 2025 at 9:46 PM
Issue 12 gives us the permanent team for the remaining 7 issues, penciller Tom Morgan and writer Robert Washington III.

Washington was co-creator of the popular Milestone hero Static. His story’s a sad one. He later was homeless and died in poverty in 2012 at the age of 47

Velez is gone after two more issues, an UNDERWORLD UNLEASHED tie-in that picks up loose threads from an old GREEN LANTERN plot.

Again, we’re so far off-premise at this point. It’s like an email went out to every DC editor asking for loose threads.

When Velez leaves, artist Al Rio goes with him.
October 30, 2025 at 9:39 PM
The next issue is written by Ivan Velez Jr. and he gets right to introducing a new Zan and Jayna, who were created for the SUPER FRIENDS cartoon.

For a JL book with “EXTREME” in the title, it really has a lot of nostalgia for SUPER FRIENDS
October 30, 2025 at 9:36 PM
I decided to keep going with EXTREME JUSTICE. After writer Dan Vado leaves, we get a one-issue fill-in by writer Charlie Bracey. Bracey only has one other comic to his name, so I’m guessing he’s executing the editor’s plan in explaining how Monarch is Nathanial Adam
October 30, 2025 at 9:33 PM
And then on his way out, Vado (doing his final issue with new series artist Al Rio) hits us with a major twist. Monarch is… Captain Atom’s alter ego!?! How?

Al Rio sadly died by suicide in 2012
October 30, 2025 at 12:59 AM
The funny thing is THIS version of Monarch actually fits the “pro-active” mission statement better than Atom’s team (which is never called “Extreme Justice” within the box.)

He uses his power to cure sick people and says he’s after bigger problems superheroes can’t solve.
October 30, 2025 at 12:57 AM
Vado’s last issues bring back Monarch, a hero turned villain who was gonna be a big deal after ARMAGEDDON 2001, but instead became Extant in ZERO HOUR and was little used in between.
