Greater Anglia will be nationalised and run by the Department for Transport from 2am this Sunday. There will be no changes to any of the core aspects of train operations.

I recently wrote to the Transport Secretary seeking assurances that their excellent record will be maintained after Sunday.

Why can’t Sky tell the truth like this guy? bsky.app/profile/anne...
This by @sundersays.bsky.social now ongoing useful and necessary fact check against the total nonsense most UK papers are still spouting out. As if they still really want to make it happen.

I am so sick and tired of it.
The approach is again to list dozens of locations as "nationwide protests": 13 locations last night, 30 today/tomorrow.

Some struggle to attract 25 people (Rhoose airport, Wolverhampton).

Most get 40-100 people.

A handful (about 1 in 10) get 200-300 people, usually due to a local context

Farming incomes have fallen by almost 20% in just one year.

Farmers in Newbury and West Berkshire are being clobbered by rising costs and the damaging Family Farm Tax.

It’s time to scrap the tax, increase the farming budget and back British farmers with a new FIELD Fund.

We need a voting system where parties are incentivised to work collaboratively on fixing the long-term issues like the climate emergency, housing, the care system, education etc.

With First-Past-The-Post, the new government in 2029 can undo everything the last one achieved.

Oh.............
Not particularly intimidating from the far right today in Exeter...

One of them did manage to get arrested, but I'm proud to say that we stood between the protesters and the poor souls in the hotel.

A miserable day for the last 61 bus from Winchester to Eastleigh via Colden Common.

Rural buses are a lifeline for individuals who do not drive - they are vital to allow people to live independently and get to hospital appointments or work.

The Lib Dems are far out performing the Labour government in taking on Reform directly and showing up Farage for the Poundland Trump tribute act most voters know him to be. It's smart politics because there is a massive dislike of the far right and everything they stand for across the UK.
Nigel Farage and the Reform Party’s Taliban Tax means sending hundreds of millions of taxpayers' money to an oppressive regime that British soldiers fought and died to defeat.

Reform lose yet another newly elected councillor.
A Reform councillor, Robert Bloom, who has been in his Northamptonshire Council post for just 117 days, has resigned after a neighbour alleged he used appalling racial slurs toward her family. He left his role following accusations he used the ‘n’ word against a black family who lived near him.
