So what's new?

Britain has been continually "colonized by immigrants" for millenia: Romans, Danes, Normans, Huguenots. Even the generic term "Anglo-Saxon" identifies two sets of colonizers.

Conversely, the Brits themselves have colonized elsewhere: N America, Africa, Asia and Australia.

Too many of Labour's big policy changes have been made without fully thinking through the detail and implications.
The government's earned settlement proposals manage to be politically and morally bankrupt at the same time as being economically and fiscally counterproductive.
