I love our country, but Nigel Farage wants to turn it into Trump’s America. We can’t let him.

Choose a brighter future with the Liberal Democrats.
The United Kingdom is at its best when we’re true to our values: tolerance, decency, respect for individual freedom and the rule of law.

We can't let Nigel Farage throw that all away by turning Britain into Trump’s America.

Choose a brighter future with the Liberal Democrats.

After recently visiting SAMEE, a Dorset charity supporting disabled young adults into self-employment, I raised their work and the barriers preventing employment in Parliament.
I’m grateful that the Minister has agreed to meet with me to discuss the charity and their cause.

Great to visit the Access Wellbeing Poole Hub, which is celebrating two years since opening. I met their fantastic team last week and saw first-hand the real difference they make, helping residents access the right support; from mental health help to guidance on finances, work and housing.

This is a betrayal of traditional and one-nation Conservatives as the Tory leader chases the title of the nasty party at their expense.
Most people are moderate & want to see a society where people are not left behind & public services actually work.
One of the stories of British politics over last 15 years has been Conservatives and Labour valuing narrower and narrower ideological coherence over their historic, broad coalitions and then being astonished that their vote shares keep falling.

Last week was a busy one across Dorset and in Parliament.

Swipe to see what I’ve been up to.

I love recycling but this is ridiculous … they were rubbish before and they still are.
🎵I think I’ve seen this film before, and I didn’t like the ending…🎶

The people who broke our country are the same people Nigel Farage is now relying on to fix it.

It couldn’t be clearer: Reform UK are simply the Conservatives with a new logo.

Dorset is the second worst-funded police force in England: 42nd out of 43.
Because of this lack of Government funding, local council tax now covers an above-average share of Dorset Police’s budget, putting further strain on already stretched local councils.
I pressed the Home Secretary on this.

Take care if you’re driving in Dorset this morning.
Many roads may be affected by flooding.
You can check local flood warnings by entering your postcode on the Environment Agency flood map before you travel.

Today is Holocaust Memorial Day, a time to remember one of the darkest chapters in human history. Unimaginable suffering driven by hatred and antisemitism.

We must remain vigilant in challenging antisemitism wherever it appears.

Take care if you are trying to drive in Dorset this morning.
Many roads blocked with flood water
⚠️Leigh rd in Wimborne
⚠️A35 Bakers Arms
⚠️Corfe castle
⚠️Alderholt completely cut off with all roads blocked with trapped cars
⚠️ Furzehill
⚠️Train line also disrupted
🚨Emergency services will be busy

I’ve joined over 100 MPs calling on the Government to finally do the right thing for WASPI women. Women born in the 1950s were harmed by pension changes made without proper notice. Despite the Ombudsman’s findings, ministers are still delaying fair compensation.
I will keep pushing for justice.

Great to join the Royal College of Midwives in Parliament and hear from these invaluable frontline staff. Midwives provide vital care, yet Dorset faces a real shortage of antenatal support.
I’ve raised this with the Health Secretary and will keep pushing for better funding and provision.

We managed to beat the rain this morning in Canford Heath. Talking to residents about local, national and international issues.
Great to find plenty of support for @libdems.org.uk and utter disgust for Trumps vile comments about NATO service personnel & disappointment with the Labour Govt

The Government talks about an “ambitious” plan to cut junk food consumption among children, yet rejected an amendment backed by Jamie Oliver’s team to let councils act.

What do you think: should councils be able to restrict fast-food ads near schools and youth spaces? Vote: suff.ag/2BBYQR

Great to attend the Lib Dem–led Taste of Oxfordshire event — a brilliant showcase of local produce.
I’ll be hosting Dorset Day, an event with my colleague Ed Morello MP on 23 Feb.

What disgusting comments. Our military paid with their lives with huge numbers returning horribly maimed physically & mentally.
As well as being cruel & wrong thus feels like a strong signal that he values no one & IMO puts the very future of NATO at risk

Calls by President Trump to annex Greenland, mark a new uncertain era in international relations. That’s why I asked the Foreign Secretary for assurances that UK Overseas Territories, including the Falkland Islands, will not face similar threats.

It's great to see children's use of social media finally discussed by politicians — it's long overdue. Here's my statement on the issue.

Here’s a clip from my speech in the Animal Welfare Strategy Debate. I know how important animal welfare is to so many people—my inbox tells me that every week. I raised concerns about vet costs, farming practices, fish welfare and wildlife crime. I will always keep pushing for stronger animal rights

It was a privilege to attend the Campaign for Gigi event, set up in memory of Genevieve Meehan, whose preventable death in nursery care should never have happened. The campaign calls for stronger protections, including compulsory CCTV, so no family has to endure this again.
January 21, 2026 at 3:34 PM
I had hoped to also raise fireworks but we had so many keen to speak I focused on farm animals, farmed fish & extortionate vet bills
@vikkislademp.bsky.social hopes the #AnimalWelfareStrategy is "the first step and not the final destination", and looks forward to hearing what legislation, that will truly deliver for animals, will be included the King’s Speech.

Politics and the news cycle move on, but Gaza must not be forgotten.
The ban on NGOs — and the aid they provide — is causing catastrophic harm.
21 children have died from extreme cold in recent days.
I asked the Government is doing now to get tents, heating and emergency supplies into Gaza.
