Which is why Donald Trump plans to sue the BBC for $1billion assisted by ex-T. May spox & BBC board member Robbie Gibb. The US owner of the Telegraph to whom the Prescott 'memo' was leaked is heavily involved in Paramount-Skydance owned by the son of the billionaire IDF benefactor Larry Ellison.
Nowhere in the hysterical pile-on against the BBC in the British press has anyone mentioned that BBC News now has 77 million viewers & listeners in the US and has established itself as the second most trusted news source there.

The BBC (and Guardian and FT) bias that none of these 'trusted news organisations' will report.

The Trump Jan 6th edit is a distraction it has always been about running cover for the perpetrators of genocidal war crimes.

Germany deported a Uyghur woman back to China rather than to Turkey after a bureaucratic mix-up, government sources said Monday, with critics slamming a "huge blunder" that endangered her life. In full: buff.ly/YQPwRed

I do not understand the Labour government's reticence over defending the BBC and social media regulation. Their long-term survival basically depends on it. Their cowardice in the face of it may be the single thing they are most remembered for.

Well, this is quite a serious allegation. I do hope the BBC shows true impartiality and investigate whether or not some of its Board members are systemically biased. www.theguardian.com/media/2025/n...

When Boris Johnson was Prime Minister one of his senior advisers confided to me that one of the only things in politics his boss actually cared about was “killing off the BBC”.

Five years on, and it is a campaign that appears to be finally coming to fruition.

Tesla’s profit fell 37% in the third quarter. It's been in the process of laying off 14,000 workers. It had more cars impacted by recalls than any other brand in 2024.

Yet Elon Musk just got a pay package worth $1 trillion.

American capitalism is off the rails.

I had a run in with ICE snatching a man out of his car while walking my children to school this morning in NW DC

I asked a neighbor to continue walking my kids to school and I turned back to document and confront the ICE agents.

Also I thought reducing the overcrowded prison population by early release was now actual government policy? It's not too surprising if prison administrators occasionally get it wrong when the Justice Dept keeps moving the goal posts on length of sentences.
There were 115 prisoners mistakenly released in the final year of the last Conservative Government alone.

Interesting that it only becomes a major national scandal the second these releases can be blamed on a Labour government

Thank you to those so often forgotten by the politics of our city, who made this movement their own. I speak of Yemeni bodega owners and Mexican abuelas. Senegalese taxi drivers and Uzbek nurses. Trinidadian line cooks and Ethiopian aunties. Yes, aunties.

I'm not crying. You're crying 😭

The lesson Mamdani's victory has for the current Labour leadership is the same as for the Democratic establishment that stupidly backed Cuomo - your neoliberal pro-capitalist pro-genocide billionaire servicing policies no longer cut it with younger voters. Join the programme or get out of the way.

British leftwingers elated by Zohran Mamdani’s victory in New York, with some saying election has lessons for Labour – UK politics live
Sadiq Khan, Zack Polanski and Zarah Sultana among figures on the left praising the mayor-elect as they look at potential blueprint for elections in UK Leftwingers in UK politics have been cheered by the election of Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York. Here is some of the reaction. This is from Sadiq Khan, the Labour mayor of London, who like Mamdani, is the first Muslim to be mayor of the city he governs and who, like Mamdani, has attracted particular hostility from Donald Trump. New Yorkers faced a clear choice - between hope and fear - and just like we’ve seen in London - hope won. Huge congratulations to @ZohranKMamdani on his historic campaign. Mamdani’s win in New York shows courage & conviction still cut through. He stood up to fear & corporate power and won. Mamdani’s victory shows us how we can defeat right-wing populism here in the UK: deliver real solutions, not empty slogans. From London to New York, Congratulations @ZohranKMamdani! Our great capital cities have chosen hope and progressive vision and won Congratulations to @ZohranKMamdani! You ignited a grassroots campaign, built on the radical idea that everyone deserves to live in dignity. Huge congratulations to New Yorkers and especially to Mamdani! A new dawn breaks as truth and unity overcome lies and division. The echo chambers couldn’t hold back the people’s voice. This victory of righteousness will spread across the whole globe! Zohran Mamdani’s victory sends a clear message that too many forget: Politics starts with people. Always. Congratulations to @ZohranKMamdani and all who stand for social justice, equality, and people driven change. Continue reading...

Even if Silwa had taken $10 million to drop out & all his votes had gone to Cuomo, Mamdani would still have narrowly won. The NY money men threw everything at this race to stop a progressive mayor from being elected & only by mobilising ordinary New Yorkers in record numbers were they stopped.
