any tent that’s big enough for billionaires does not have space for me 🤷‍♀️
Gov. @gavinnewsom says he disagrees with Mayor @zohrankmamdani about the need for a wealth tax on billionaires, which he is “adamantly against” - says Dems are a “big tent party” with both views.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

It may sound radical, but if one guy has so much wealth and power that he can use the large newspaper he owns to publicly threaten to ruin a service we all rely on, presumably as a bargaining tactic to get lower rates, we probably need to tax that guy until he can't do that anymore.
Exclusive: Amazon has long been USPS’s top customer, providing over $6 billion in annual revenue in 2025.

But Amazon may give up its long-standing partnership with USPS to deliver packages itself, which could spell disaster for the mail agency.

Gavin Newsom spent the early months of Trump 2 having friendly chats with far-right extremists. He praised Steve Bannon shortly after he gave a literal Nazi salute.

Google "Newsom vetoes" for a long list of things he has fucked up for California. He's a snake and you shouldn't trust him.
You may have gripes...nobody is perfect, but Newsom has been a great governor. He's an excellent administrator, and if you want to join the circular firing squad which has destroyed progressive politics, be it on you.

Rand Paul could have prevented Pete Hegseth from being confirmed as Defense Secretary. Instead, he voted for him — a manifestly unqualified candidate — to run the Defense Department. Now, we're here.
Rand Paul tells me that he wants the full video of the Venezuelan boat strike released.

“And I think if the public sees images of people clinging to boat debris and being blown up, I think that there is a chance that finally, the public will get interested enough in this to stop this.”

growing problem for the dems is that their voters want progressive candidates but the party leadership generally doesn't. so there's no structure to identify and vet good progressive candidates until it's too late.
The noisiest Dem primary so far is probably Maine Senate, and here for instance I think it’s useful to see that despite all the bad publicity Platner still appears to be the favorite:

She says social media influenced “not just the usual suspects” but also “young Jewish Americans who don’t know the history and don’t understand.”

Forget Whether Or Not DOGE Exists: Will Anyone Be Held Accountable For 600,000 Deaths?
First, let's dispense with the theater: the question of whether DOGE "still exists" as a formal entity completely misses the point. The always-misleadingly-named "Department of Government Efficiency" was never really about efficiency. It was Elon Musk's excuse to gain access to the federal government's fundamental systems and wreak havoc, Twitter-style—smashing anything that got in his way, enriching his allies, and dismissing any consequences with a wave of his hand.

i'd go even further and say there is a reason even nixon kept this kind of stuff to himself. you would have to go back quite a bit to find a point at which is acceptable for a president to say anything like this *in public*, to say nothing of in the oval office.
I don’t want to be pollyannish about the past, but it was basically inconceivable twenty years ago that a president would say this publicly
Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."
