I think what most of us didn’t quite grasp about this quote is that the “they” Trump was referring to wasn’t the women being assaulted, it was everyone whose job is purportedly to hold people like Trump to account for assault. He already knew he could get away with anything.
“When you’re a star, they let you do it” is the most accurate thing he has ever said, and he wasn’t *just* talking about assaulting women.
