But the public spend for Conyears-Ervin may signal AIPAC is looking to avoid another NJ-11 situation where ads attacking Tom Malinowski may have helped a progressive critic of Israel clinch the Dem primary win, though results aren’t final

This is one of 4 Chicago area seats AIPAC is working in this cycle without making official endorsements. People close to the races say AIPAC is trying to buy four solidly blue seats in Illinois without turning off voters.

The question now is what the AIPAC donors who backed Friedman — were talking people who have 5 & 6 figures to United Democracy Project — will do. Stay tuned!

I asked her campaign if she stands by that, haven’t gotten a response. Appears she hasn’t posted any tweets about Gaza

As far as I could find, Conyears-Ervin hasn’t said much publicly about Israel beyond criticizing another candidate, Kina Collins, for describing Israel’s attacks on Gaza in the days after October 7 a genocide and calling for a ceasefire. Nothing on her campaign website

Quick rundown of what’s happening in IL-07: we reported in November that Jason Friedman had received $ from 35+ AIPAC donors though the group hadn’t formally endorsed in the race. Today AIPAC’s super PAC United Democracy Project went up w/ ads for one of his opponents, Melissa Conyears-Ervin

UPDATE: Asked the White House how it could defend Trump’s racist post of the Obamas as just showing “Democrats as characters from The Lion King" given it has no gorillas.

They repeated the defense … and then blamed it on an unnamed staffer who "erroneously made the post."

"It has been taken down."
