The Dawlish - Teignmouth railway line feels like the absolute front line of climate adaptation in Britain (a test we are not passing so far).

And yet somehow, somehow, this article manages to go in-depth on the problems with the line without mentioning the climate once. The sea is literally higher!
Fresh fears for South West's rail link in Dawlish after storms
Taxpayer money has flowed into fixing the rail line connecting Cornwall with the rest of the UK - but the elements have other ideas.

The USA and Russia are both proving the vital security necessity of energy independence.

The easiest, cheapest, and longest term way to deliver this is with renewable energy investment.

The USA also showing how important switching to European-based tech infrastructure is.

So good to see this recognition of what’s happening in GM.👇🏻

It’s based on

🐝 setting high, long-term ambitions & sticking to them

🐝 strong partnership between public, private and other sectors

🐝 collaborative ‘place-first’ politics

And we’re only getting started! 💪🏻
Could Manchester be a model for the UK to kickstart growth?
With an annual growth rate of 3.1%, Manchester's economy has performed twice as well as that of the UK as a whole.

Evolutionary biologists have a responsibility to oppose the unscientific, deeply unethical, & immoral promulgations of billionaire-funded, pseudoscientific eugenics pablum glorifying exploitation
This isn't a purely philosophical or semantic argument about what "British" means.

Once you accept different tiers of British citizenship you gain a way to formally discriminate.

USSR documents famously had a "5th line" denoting ethnicity. Stalin's nationalist repressions used this as their basis.
It *literally* does.

Thats what it is. A document which says youre British.

I stopped counting but there are now close to 70 independent studies all coming to similar conclusion:

“Hydrogen boilers […] remain economically unviable.”

This is what this paper which I had not yet read found comparing a range of heating technologies.
If you've seen the Sunday Times today you'll know Labour Together were secretly hiring people to investigate journalists.

Sadly you won't know that The National broke this story six months ago, since our work is not credited at all.

It made NO blip on this godforsaken site, but a few days ago numerous news sources broke that the Gaza Civil Defense had reported that around 3,000 Palestinians had partially or completely evaporated from US-manufactured bombs.

Well, today, they adjusted that number to 7,820.

Politics London discussing driverless taxis casually referring to “jaywalking pedestrians”.

Jaywalking is not a thing in UK law.

Transport for London and Government had better not be asleep at the wheel on this.
Imagine being so "patriotic" that you protest the Royal National Lifeboat Institute for saving lives.
Racist morons fuelled by hate.

Can Starmer be sued for misconduct in public office as he was incontrovertibly qualified to have know it was illegal?

The timeline to UK independence from USA is what we really want to hear about.
Of course we need to defend ourselves in collaboration with our dependable allies. The USA has been very clear they are not dependable.
I know his lies don't make the news anymore but we must keep trying to get the message out! He talks bollocks!

Immigrants are net contributors to the United Kingdom. They have enriched our country immeasurably and indeed are essential to its continued growth and prosperity. Integration is an overwhelming UK success story. We should be proud of it.

We Europeans are too soft & polite sometimes.
Rubio urges us to give up on climate change, to re conquer the world, adopt Trumpian views, unite with the US, while throwing in a bit of shared heritage & the room in Munich gives him a standing ovation.
We're not like you America & we don't want to be.
Just checking, it's now ok to flee your homeland, because you're afraid for your safety, and seek refuge in another Country?

Glad we've cleared that up. Let's hear no more about immigration and refugees then.

I don't think you can destroy property without there being an element of intimidation of the owners/users of the property. It would be quite a strong presumption that actors who destroyed property believed that such destruction would not impact the deliberations of the owners/users of that property.

Its interesting that the Stanford Encyclopedia on Philosophy starts it chapter on Civil Disobedience with reference to the Boston Tea Party - which was definitely about damage to property. The definition the judgement implies would put the Boston Tea Party clearly outside the scope.

It felt like they were more competent and less obviously racist before the 2000s, but that may be that my life in the 80s and 90s didn't expose me to their racism.

I would hazard that their culture has become 'Its more important to be draconian than to be competent'. 14 years of Tory 'leadership' will change culture - sadly.
Not sure if Man United owner Jim Ratcliffe will see this being as he literally migrated to Monaco to avoid paying tax in the UK, but we wanted to put this up outside the stadium anyway….
