The Internet was designed such that each site would run it's own server(s). This outage's wide range of affected services is a direct result of violating the principle of decentralization and self-hosting. The "cloud" is a weakness, reducing resiliency

One frightening answer is that they aren't imitating them, they (the cabinet) are them but with a red rosette.
