FYI to Florida licensed folks. You can do your finger prints before your license renewal window opens. Some of the website wording is confusing because there’s a different window for finger print retention vs license. So a lot of us thought you could mess things up by doing prints too early.

Rain on the forecast for my Disneyland trip. Good because it scares of locals but bleh because I don’t want the walking boot cast to get wet. I bought some covers for the boot already to ride Tiana’s so have that worst case.

I once got in a Slack debate with the editor-in-chief of a publication, a woman, who believed that for society to benefit from genius men those men's abuse of women might need to be tolerated. I argued that the loss of contributions of the women they abused could easily be worth 10x their own.

My actual job description is activist and here’s what I tell people in despair all the time: do not underestimate how much harm you can prevent by being just a little bit annoying.
This is one reason I keep trying to remind people of the power that we have. That we have *always* had. Not because I’m in denial, but because I know history. I’m no sophisticated intellectual, but I do know we’re going to win even though the bad shit is really terrible right now.
Too many people on Bluesky think that relentless expressions of despair are a sign of intellectual sophistication.
