They just blindly shot through the fucking door.

"Additional photographs show damage consistent with a bullet fragment lodged in a bedroom wall down the hallway — suggesting it traveled between a mattress and a portable crib in a room where several small children sleep."
"Photographic evidence from the shooting scene of a Venezuelan man by federal agents last month in Minneapolis supports the account of witnesses there – and appears to undercut the narrative provided by federal officials." www.startribune.com/ice-raids-mi...

This is a deeply important piece. "A tool meant to make D.M.V. data sharing frictionless for law enforcement agencies also acts like a privacy Trojan horse, because agencies don’t need just cause or a warrant to look at it."

I read this, and I almost regret it. What do you even do with the knowledge that Epstein wanted and was trying to engineer societal breakdown via far right populism bc he thought it would benefit his sex trafficking business?
I read thousands of pages of Epstein files this weekend trying to understand what he wanted out of his meeting with 4chan's Christopher Poole. Here's everything we know about Epstein's plans to dismantle the internet and, eventually, democracy.

I enjoy drawing connections between the 2020 George Floyd Uprisings, the proliferation of mutual aid groups in NYC in the following years (including the 15 groups fiscally hosted by Pact of which I'm the Board Chair), and then having a democratic socialist as our mayor 6 years later.

Incrementalists take it on the chin again. This is why they hate Mamdani. He's giving up the game that people in power HAVE POWER and don't solely exist to beg you for $5 every day. He's ruining the Democratic Party by showing voters that they have the power to do stuff instead of crouching in fear

Without thoughtful public policy (lol) or tech design driven by impacted communities (LOL!!!!) self-driving cars are just cars equipped with a shit-ton of surveillance cameras that will be weaponized against Black and brown communities and leveraged by authoritarians worldwide to consolidate power

Must be weird to be in the White House Press Corp, to gaggle in the briefing room or travel on Air Force One and respectfully ask polite questions about economic issues and foreign policy to a child rapist.

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

If there comes a day when police put their bodies between the feds with guns and their targets, I will praise the police for doing so. I don’t expect to see that day. It might even be a dangerous escalation. But until that day comes … I assume they are helping the feds.

I believe that, through the sheer power of posting, we can bully this person out of running for governor. Let's do this, Minnesota. I believe in us

I’m old and have a lot less at stake than many people. If I get arrested, I won’t lose my pension. If I get shot, I’ll lose 10-20 years of arthritis getting worse and worse. I have no reason not to rouse a little rabble.

Kansas has passed a bill that would revoke trans people's drivers licenses, forcing them to surrender them for replacements.

It also creates trans bounty hunters that can sue trans people for money.

It goes to the gov, who will veto, but R's can override.

Watch this short account of an encounter with ICE.
📍Rev. Kenny Callahan, a Minneapolis pastor, said “I’m not afraid.”
ICE pointed a gun in his face.

🧊 Then said: “You’re white. You wouldn’t be fun anyway.”

This was fear and Intimidation

"Our new analysis shows that it is far more dangerous to be pregnant than to have an abortion, and this gap in mortality risk is even larger than previously recognized.” - lead study author Maria Steenland.
In fact, the mortality risk of pregnancy is 44 to 70 times higher than from abortion.
Risk of maternal death during pregnancy greatly underestimated, study finds
A new study comparing deaths of pregnant people and of those who have an abortion show that risk of death due to pregnancy is three times higher than previously estimated.

I keep seeing posts going "when ICE comes to MY city, we'll be out in the streets even harder" and man, I get that sentiment but I need everyone to understand that the work in Minneapolis is partly confrontational but MORE IMPORTANTLY aaallll the stuff organized in the background to help neighbors
