It really isn’t that hard to understand, huns.

I have today been informed that, despite personal assurances to the contrary, the Green party have once again used my image and misrepresented my words on a second leaflet circulated in Gorton and Denton ahead of the by-election. I have now lodged an official complaint with the returning officer.

Like, this is Trevor Phillips talking about the largest fascist mobilisation in Britain since before World War II. And this dickhead was the head of the national equality body! Does this not tell us our problems are somewhat deeper than what arse goes in which chair, in front of whichever TV camera.

It goes down well with people who have never voted for them and never will. bsky.app/profile/cath...
Do they understand how mad they sound? As if anyone has ever decided to cross the Channel in a small boat because, if they make it, they might get to take a free taxi to a doctor's appointment?

"Pull factors" on steroids.

We can see how many ministers have ended up on the gravy trains and work it out from there.
Jesus. And it raises another question. How many others in or around government are lured by the prospect of a post-office pay bonanza? How will we ever know unless they're caught up in a politicised US sex scandal?
Peter Mandelson is telling the truth on one thing: the idea he was bought for a $4k “bursary” or a $75k gift is ridiculous

The real incentive was a post-government payday - one so big he *rejected* a $3–5m-a-year offer

And Epstein enabled that payday

Here’s the evidence. 🧵

A torrent of discussion is not a good thing and that a journalist feels it is suggests they are a click bait merchant.
There has been a torrent of discussion about the interview, which again feels like a good thing.

I framed her view as a sombre and radical position, because it is, but I'm not sure it's my place as an interviewer to insert masses of my own opinion. People can - and have - made their own minds up.

“Jaywalking is permitted in London. In 1966, the police tried to crack down on it, but gave up after three months.”

People walk and cycle on roads by right, people drive under licence.

Jaywalking is not a thing in English law and Waymo must not change that.

Wow, I'm really shocked that the guy debasing politics, debased politics and then people started acting like that was the new normal.

Wait, what does debasing mean again?
If ignoring security advice is going to blow up at last, can we drag Boris Johnson's appointment of Lebedev to the Lords into the storm too please 🙏🏻
This looks like a very big problem and a resigning issue for someone imv. news.sky.com/story/no-10-...

Honestly what is the point of having a programme that is *not* live if you are not going to use that function to aggressively factcheck the people on it?
It is quite striking that Konstantin Kisin simply denied (falsely) on BBC1 that he had said what he said, word for word, on his podcast.
Konstantin Kisin straight up lying on #bbcqt

Douglas Alexander: “When Fraser Nelson put it to you that Rishi Sunak is absolutely english… you said “he’s a brown Hindu, how is he english?”

Kisin: “No, that’s not what I said...”

John Oxley points out the clear yet often overlooked point that young men 18-24 are the second most liberal, left-leaning group in society (after young women) - being more so than young-ish thirtysomething women, and older women, as well as than men in older cohorts
🚨🚨 NEW BLOGPOST 🚨🚨

The right wing should be worried about young men. Unlike Europe and the US, British young men are swinging wildly behind progressive parties. Some thoughts on why, and why most of the right are ignoring it.

What gets me about Reeves' here is why bother to be a member of a social democratic / left of centre political party if you're going to make this argument? Just pack it in and go be a libertarian or something??
Rachel Reeves: "It is not right that people who don't go to university bear the cost for others to." I don't use local leisure centres and I don't drive, so will I be made exempt for taxation that pays for all that stuff? Or is it only education we'll be going after

On almost everything – fraud, polarisation, radicalisation, misinformation – evidence suggests that over 60s are in much more urgent need of online protection and education than teenagers.

But that issue gets zero political attention, and is a total non-starter. Nothing good will come of it.
This was a minor story on London news this morning - but suspect is a real cautionary (and alarming) tale of an older man getting radicalised online.

Shocked that Osborne could have designed this.
It was all very clear in the design that this would happen - that poor would be worse off than rich.

How could Osborne do this entirely consistent with his world view thing?
And don’t get me started on the Osborne decision to abolish maintenance grants. The poorest students now borrow the most, carry debt longest, and subsidise the richest families who can pay it off quickly. Sounds like a sensible tax system!

Goodwin went to the University of Salford, so this is tantamount to me claiming to be a Geordie (I do not claim to be a Geordie). He then buggered off. Living for three years or so in Greater Manchester does not constitute "coming home."
Goodwin was born in St Albans in Hertfordshire.

Farage needs a geography lesson.

I know this is the slightly wry take, but it is always seemingly "elite" people that these people like and vote for.

Almost as if the voters are lying about what they like/don't like to avoid saying to strangers that they are basic racists.
Nothing like announcing a former academic and highly paid TV presenter as your candidate to stick it to those bastardly elites

At a time Trump is selling pardons, it's easy to overlook this kind of soft corruption, but a company like Amazon doesn't spend $40m making a documentary it knows no one wants to watch, and the same screening it, unless they have a clear expectation it will bring them substantial benefits.
