my favourite attendee of the London Art Fair yesterday was the girl - I want to say maybe nine years old? - who ran like the wind towards one specific booth, stopped dead, got paralysed by giggles for a solid minute, then got her phone out and took a very zoomed in picture of a painting of a butt

Younger generations “have fallen out of love with Harry Potter because they have fallen out of love with the worldview the series represents,” writes Louise Perry. “Which is to say that young people have fallen out of love with liberalism.”
Opinion | Why Gen Z Doesn’t Love ‘Harry Potter’

CBP chief Bovino has confirmed that the officers who executed Alex Pretti in the street yesterday are not only *not on administrative leave,* they have all been reassigned to other jurisdictions and are all on the street today.

This is totally unheard of for any officer-involved shooting

Now, I am on the Bar Council, but only the Bar Council speaks for the Bar Council.

That noted: if you can’t get past the second paragraph without getting the number of members of the Law Library and the remit of the Bar Council wrong, maybe the Irish Times out to do its own work properly first.

I should add, I think that most of the Minister for Justice’s legislative agenda seems to read more as a job application for the post of party leader than considered, long term policy making.

Sure, blocking access to justice will face obvious challenges but he plans not to be holding the bag then.

Blaming Judicial Review for administrative failures is like dropping a hammer on your toe and then trying to outlaw gravity.

It probably won’t work and if it did we would all regret it.

Instead, don’t drop hammers on feet.

If ever the idea of maintaining a means for citizens to challenge a Govt who was acting illegally was worth protecting, it is surely now.

Judicial Review (JR) doesn’t succeed without administrative wrongdoing.

If you don’t like JRs, don’t block the ability to challenge. Just make lawful decisions.

Only 2000 signatures needed now for Ireland to pass the threshold. We're at 70%, France is at 300%!! For gawds sake.

C'mon #speirgorm we can do better than France!

Sign! For ECIs to be considered by the European Commission, each country must meet its threshold, for Ireland that's 10,080. We are currently at just under 6,000, approx 58%, so we need a big push! Belgium, Finland, France and Spain are there, let's get there too!
