A friendly reminder that Kanye West’s linking of his bipolar disorder to his antisemitism is dangerous on all kinds of levels… Not the least of which to all kinds of folk with bipolar disorder, including me, who live reasonable lives free from antisemitic outbursts.

Through it all, whether it was ‘cosplaying’ a pastor in a Montreat storefront in 2005 or processing down the cathedral aisle to preach in Paris, I have found God in what I am lucky enough to do.

I went to a store for an order and forgot my wallet. I saw a sign that said if you’re under 40 you will be carded. I started making all kinds of excuses in my head so they’d put the wine back and refund me.

Let’s just say I was incredibly humbled when they handed me my groceries, no ID needed. 👴🏻

I’m pretty sure Jesus raptured the bread aisle of every southern grocery store.

Dr. and Mrs. King's daughter, Bernice has been a cherished friend. She wrote the foreword to one of my books. I've learned from her how important it is to connect King's words to today. It's more than just a day, it's a legacy to live out and enact.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39 (NRSVUE)

If you’re mad about confederate statues coming down, but not mad about the East Wing of the White House being demolished, it was never about history for you…

This photo was taken 7 years ago today. I’ve had the privilege to do so much in my life, but one moment that still leaves me stunned is when The Rev. Jesse Jackson asked me to sign his copy of my book. It’s a memory I will cherish forever.
