Thread suggesting rather strongly that there may be an upper limit to how much salty liquorice the human frame may safely ingest.
So I just learned about the 1986 airplane hijacking attempt in #Oulu, #Finland, and now you too are going to. Because I burst out laughing in a train reading about it.

It has:
✔️beer (lots)!
✔️hijinks!
✔️weird occult Nazis!
✔️✔️✔️"HYPNOTIC-MAGNETIC GAZE!"

Why oh why this isn't a movie yet! (a THREAD.)

Over 28 years, 140 people died at the Berlin Wall from all causes (intentional shooting, drowning, accidents, etc.). #comparativeborderregimes
This is the 38th time that the U.S. military has unlawfully killed civilians on the orders of Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump. At least 130 people — never charged with crimes, their identities unknown to their executioners — are now dead.
We are murdering people and it is basically just background noise at this point. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/09/u...

Reform is threatening Bangor University over a student society’s decision. The society isn’t Bangor University—but this is a neat preview of how a Reform government would work: public money for supporters only. Trump-style politics, UK edition.

Because you’re not sharing a continent with Spanish speakers, so the incentives and rewards are different?

The English hang-ups over French are all the more baffling when English is just a creole from German speakers trying to speak French.

Because I see rugby writers are trying to paint Ireland getting stuffed in contact as the referee’s fault, a brief note: there was no forward pass in the first French try. Dupont offloads flat, it travels flat, Bielle-Barrey takes it way behind him and the AR is looking right down it to confirm it.
