It's like chess, you know. The Queen saves the King

Much like the Public Services Card, my biggest concern is that there's only a handful of journalists who actually understand data protection and can argue against this.

I don't want to be hearing from opinion columinists who argued the PSC was kinda like a gym card (this happened)
In an interview with Extra.ie, Tánaiste Simon Harris, the Irish Deputy PM, said that he will use Ireland holding rotating EU presidency next year to lead calls for the introduction of ID-verified social media accounts in the EU as well as ban social media for kids

After the court ruling, a couple of UK journalists started taking about how they hoped people like Freeman could relax now because they "won".

Not a chance. These people are consumed about one thing

Miriam was full of praise of O'Callaghan last year too. "He's getting a lot of things done" or something, without specifying exactly what he is getting done.
With my tinfoil hat on, I detect an effort to normalise talk on immigration that would have been considered extreme a few years ago. No mention of any achievements or the like, just wishy washy statements like "he hasn’t shied away from the thorny issue of immigration"

A former editor of the Irish Examiner went ballistic at the idea he couldn't get a pint after 8pm because of restrictions
You occasionally find fellas who still scream and roar even now about COVID lockdown and if you probe, their main gripe is they couldn't go out for a pint.
This is genuinely horrifying. Fact-free far-right agitprop given accolades by credible media across the political spectrum.

Why is this advice always aimed at children avoiding their parents, and never at older people belligerently and inevitably regurgitating Facebook opinions so offensive their own kids would rather skip Christmas dinner than endure them?
Yeah, no thanks.

Stop guilting people about being estranged from family members. It someone is they likely have personal reasons for being so.

I don't quite get how you can threaten a judicial review and then wind up with a Transport body buying your houses tbh

The Cracker Barrel thing was THIS YEAR. We have three more years of this shit. Anybody who makes it to 2028 without looking like Nosferatu will be required by the state to start a skincare brand.

Incredible that we still get PR guff from State bodies about "national slow down day" when the Government decided to nix a mandatory 30km/h in cities.

The British press publishes ten transphobic articles a day because it is deeply concerned about violence against women and girls, apparently.
On David Walliams: The Daily Mail reveals that “showbusiness reporters at The Sun were told to drop negative stories about Walliams because both that newspaper and HarperCollins are owned by Rupert Murdoch's NewsUK, even sharing offices near London Bridge.”

Always interesting when a party pretends they support a bill in theory but there's technical issues with it, and no they aren't going to let it go to next stage and propose amendments to address their concerns, they will just not vote for it at all.

Though it does seem that an experienced political machine in Fianna Fail couldn't sniff out the tenant issue more thoroughly and solely relied on Jim Gavin's word.

Way too many journalist hyping up that Fianna Fail report before it was released and some sound utterly deflated.

In Martin's world, his Justice Minister (and Government) wanting to relax the rules on torture doesn't compare to the drama he's going through for picking a drip of a Presidential candidate.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has hit out at media coverage of the long-awaited Fianna Fáil review of its disastrous presidential election campaign, calling some reporting "disappointing, selective and inaccurate".

When the HD remasters of Star Trek The Next Generation were released, they showed some episodes in the cinema.

A guy dressed up as a Vulcan, in full Star Trek uniform, started getting more and more angry as a guy wouldn't move from his seat.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.
