Okay, so, we’re all going to have to agree that it’s wrong to have sex with children. Like, if you don’t agree with me inside your own head, you should keep that inside until you tell a therapist. Also, people who defend pedophiles can not be trusted with your children. At all. AT ALL. EVERRRRRRRRR.

Ironically you can see this very dynamic in the Epstein emails themselves, where the power elite all email each other absurd rumors and semi-literate political scuttlebutt and theorizing. The boys’ club exposed in those messages is the same one that controls the brains of the top Times editors.

I, personally, would like to see dramatic consequences for senior leadership’s reprehensible and vicious crusade against trans people, so I will take what I can get

but fundamentally they have a deep disdain for their main consumer base of normie libs and that base has finally taken notice

multiple offline resist libs I know have moved away from or even canceled the paper out of frustration - people are desperate for some sort of institutional counterweight to Trump and the Times has very obviously fallen short

games and recipes are holding it together

something I find very telling is the attitude among normie dems these days

in Trump 1.0, the Times was the center of the “resistance” - often fueling with the Post for what felt like daily scoops

in Trump 2.0, the paper’s disinterest in actual adversarial reporting is noticeable and people are mad
I think there are a number of people employed at the New York Times -- certainly not all of them, but many! -- who simply do not grasp how badly the paper's credibility has been shaken over the past few years, along several different axes, and for multiple different reasons

Not excusing the NYT's political coverage, but this person makes an important point. The reason legacy media falls all over itself to cover BS like Benghazi, Hunter Biden's laptop, Hilary's server, etc. is because the entire GOP and their media apparatus takes official actions to make them a story.
The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

it’s worth crediting Joe Biden — yes, that one, the senile one with dementia — how he didn’t succumb to this dynamic when it was clearly Republicans’ plan during a debt-limit crisis.
Shutdown fight shows the basic cunning of the default GOP move: never give Dems an inch, no matter how unpopular our position, and wait for them to fracture. www.offmessage.net/p/epstein-re...

The reason why Trump and Republicans are so gung-ho about cutting SNAP (and Medicaid, etc.) is because starvation is a tools to get poor Americans to take the jobs left empty by the deportation of immigrants

The BU student who complained that prized "American jobs" at a car wash were being given away to immigrants is himself British.

I wonder if he has any opinions on whether prized spots at American universities should or should not be given away to immigrants?
According to the car wash owner, agents arrested employees before they could obtain their documentation from their work lockers. So many were likely here legally.

Here's hoping this article on Zac boasting about how he ruined some immigrants' lives follows him around for a very long time.

It shouldn’t take 50 years to buy a house. We should not normalize that.
Kevin Hassett: "The 50 year mortgage is just one of many many policies that are currently being studied ... the argument for it is that it would really lower the monthly payment. The downside is it would take longer to build equity in the home."

Trump and Ric Grenell really will do all they can to destroy the Kennedy Center.

They won’t succeed, but they very well might hollow it out for the time he’s in office and for some time thereafter.

It’s truly horrible.
