Polymarket founder Shayne Coplan once said Polymarket "predictions" are second in accuracy only to a crystal ball
The reason it's gone up is because they made a different market for whether the Jesus market will reach 5c at any point, so people are buying Y on the Jesus market in the hopes that Y holders in the derivative market will pump the Jesus market to 5c.

If anything, I think being unable to write romance is a real red flag for a writer. It's fine to not be interested in it, but being bad at romance raises questions abt character interaction and internality.
This is 100% true. Also the idea that romance writers are vapid and it’s not real writing…I know so many romance writers who have advanced degrees. They’re lawyers, doctors, hell, one of them one money on Jeopardy.

Writing a good book is hard, no matter the genre.

Fantasy romance loves to be like "their only weapons are their love, their devotion, and their ability to bend the metaphysical properties of reality to their will."

Sabrina Carpenter you should star in every Muppet movie and every movie about submarines in World War II, between the two of them everyone will love you
I got some flak from a friend a while ago because I said 4’11” isn’t pop star height but I somehow failed to consider the fact that it’s a perfect height to frame with a muppet. I take it back, no celebs over 5’2”

i think in the name of fairness the producers of the baldur's gate tv show should demand that tv writers do at least a year of running around in circles doing unpaid writing tests before they're allowed to write for the show

an alarming amount of the internet runs off AWS. the somewhat-recent AWS outage a month knocked out online ordering, card transaction processing, 3rd party payroll providers, and slack for what seemed like most non-corporate food service places in Austin. divesting is simply sensible.
AWS generates an estimated 50-70% of Amazon’s income according to most sources, which I feel compelled to remind people trying to organize an Amazon retail boycott meant for Bezos. We have to think more critically about how we apply pressure to corporate powers.

The war on work from home is in large part a war on women having a career btw
Roughly half a million women in the US exited the workforce in 2025, and 42% of those who voluntarily left cited their caregiving responsibilities as the main reason, according to a recent survey from Catalyst.
