Just because it seems like there's slight movement in the ice-jam doesn't mean we need to stop being vigilant. We need to keep working until the river is free of ice, so it can flow cleanly.

Minnesota has a long history of not giving our prizes to losers who demand them.
Hahaha can you imagine how insufferable we’d be if the People of Minnesota won the Nobel peace prize
Some thoughts:

1. The deadline for nominating a person or group for the Nobel Peace Prize is Feb. 1.

2. History professors are qualified nominators.

3. The people of Minnesota have been awe-inspiringly peaceful in the face of state violence.

4. He would be so mad.

I don't know about anybody else, but I think that whiny letter from all those Minnesota businesses coming out right after only one day of a general strike is something we should remember.

The toughest people these ICE/BP guys have ever encountered are a male nurse, a lesbian poet, some grandmas, and folks in little cars like a Honda Fit.

It's shattering their worldview and sense of self.

Wasn't supposed to be this way. The podcasters and X posters and supplement sellers said so.
I am just gonna say it, these guys are completely emasculated by the knowledge that they have been out-organized by a group that is significantly made up of women, and all the bullshit call of duty nonsense is cope for their wounded egos bsky.app/profile/jeet...

I'm cautiously optimistic that MN pushed DHS to pull back significantly, but they're not gone.

Hell, even if they pull out completely by some miracle, there are homegrown problems that need to be reckoned with, like Lisa Demuth inviting that idiot and starting this whole thing. We stay fighting.

Yes, this changes nothing and we still have to ride ICE / CBP out of town on a rail, get justice for their crimes, plus all missing people (CHILDREN!) accounted for / returned. We have to be relentless in demanding ALL of the above, too many Democratic politicians are satisfied with cosmetic wins.
If your Representative or Senators start going "whew! I guess it's ok to give DHS funding now" be ready to get on their cases
Today’s retreat is absolutely an attempt to take pressure off of Congress to rein in ICE so that a funding package can get through.

That pressure has been effective. We can celebrate Minneapolis’ win but we need to keep the pressure on. They’re not going to stop forever.

One thing I hope people take the time to acknowledge: The sea change in public opinion has been achieved because violence, though encourage by a lot of people here online, was never once employed by the movement. Violence was solely the purview of the state and that is why the state is losing.

They're on the back foot.

Let's hope we as a collective metro area are smarter about what to do in this situation than the head coach of the Green Bay Packers.
ok so lil Bovi is going.. did they expect for that to change something here? that doesn't... change anything lol.

nothing will change until ICE is completely abolished, dismantled, and prosecuted along with the nasty bunch who approved cruelty to our neighbors here in MN and nationwide

Pretty clear to me the feds were trying to provoke mass violence from locals that they never actually got, so now they just keep referring to "riots" anyway and sound demented

Tide might be turning. Keep pushing. Keep calling, donating, protesting, all of it. Don’t stop, especially if Trump starts throwing them overboard. Don’t stop until they’re all gone

This isn't the end, this is instead the opportunity we can seize to make the rest of them retreat as well.

And then we put them all in prison for their crimes.

Not to be a killjoy, but as the news that all Border Patrol agents are being sent home circulates — and please God let that be true — a reminder that CBP and ICE are different agencies.

I don't know the relative proportions of people here, but we're not finished yet.
