All right - I've done a comedy writer and producers starter pack for everyone who's into that sort of thing. And YES, I've forgotten you, so remind me that you exist and YES I will put you on it (unless you have slighted me in some unremembered way in the last 20 years). go.bsky.app/AkQCH7U

Considering the news of what Federal Authorities are doing in America a more sensible Home Secretary may have questioned the wisdom of announcing this right now, or ever.

Once again Mahmood showing she only cares about looking "tough", while Labour comms continue to be utterly dire.

In 2023 the UK government legislated that veterans who, like US ICE officers, shot their fellow citizens dead, on camera - for protesting, would never answer in any court - Civil, Criminal or even Coroners. With no pushback from the left or electorate.

Just amplifying for the excellent use of 'bananapants' tbh
I know we're all seeing 87 unhinged things per day, but "guys if our multi billion dollar product doesn't start being useful for something, literally anything, the people might not appreciate us wrecking the planet over it anymore" is a truly bananapants thing to say out loud
Delicious to me

I feel like America plotting to annex Greenland while masked state goons terrorise their own communities at will should encourage British press and politicians to reflect on what happens when you act like "far right" is an unfair slur rather than a necessary descriptor of a real political position.

Some people say Keir Starmer has been dealt a bad hand.

We're still in January and he's already signed a defence deal with Palantir - knowing full well how unpredictable and dangerous the US President is.

We're way past the point of giving pleading appeasement speeches.
When Trump says "one way or another we're going to have Greenland" - we should sit up and listen.

Time for British leaders to stop burying their heads in the sand.

Trump's threat to Greenland must be a wake up call for Britain
For too long our politicians have toadied to a dangerous president

Holy shit, that’s just actual theft.
In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

Oh wow. Trump got a hand-me-down Nobel Peace Prize! Did you know:

It would not be the first time a Nobel laureate has given his or her medal away: in 1943 Nobel Literature laureate Knut Hamsun gave his medal to Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels.

PHWOAR! Look at how beautiful this is. Look at how beautiful the things we used to give our children were. The care put into every disposable object. Smallfilms. Orson Welles as Omicron. Willo The Wisp. Oink! was a satirical comic for kids, with puppets made by Fluck and Law.

Minor digression, but one thing I am going to need everyone to start internalising now is that there is not going to be a moment where Trump stands up on stage and says “I declare Civil War”

that is not how it works. These things get named by the outside and after the fact
You really have to wonder whether the guys behind this DHS account are hoping for civil war

My friend got it from HMV on the first morning of release. We bought a bottle of Dubonnet from Oddbins on the way back to his room (best ABV to price ratio). WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A MORNING. Put it on. Gasped. Half-laughed. Settled for a morning of Dubonnet & crumpets with no bangers instead.
WHERE WERE YOU when you heard the full song? Me and everyone else on my floor of the halls of residence, watching Top of the Pops. The RAGE. People stood up. Dropped plates. Carnage

Okay. I need a boost here.

Looking for artists.

We're talking about some potential comic book style art and/or concept art for the #iHunt film. We're privately funding development, so budget isn't Hollywood.

I want queer and/or nonwhite artists. I want cool styles.

When I did This Guilty Land, I spent the year before its publication carefully & consistently framing its argument and its approach, and I do feel it's incumbent on someone making a serious game on a sensitive topic to do that. But to demonstrate your thoughtfulness you need to *be* thoughtful. 🧵
And one thing I want to make clear: I dont think anyone who saw this and reacted negatively has to give it the benefit of the doubt.

If you are designing a game on a sensitive issue, it is on *you* to show that you did the work and it is *your* job to convince the audience that this should exist.
