There is absolutely no real reason a random 18 year old should have heard of or know anything about the actor and writer Wallace Shawn. It is not disrespectful to Shawn to accept this.

If you’re a theatre-maker, it’s hard to overstate how strange Wally’s film/TV career has been
On the other site, an 18-year-old Zohran canvasser described the legendary Wallace Shawn as "the actor who plays Dr. Sturgis on Young Sheldon" which is honestly adorable

Fucking hell this train stabbing. Absolutely horrific, nightmarish

I'm not entirely sure what this "6, 7" thing is, though I believe when a young person says it they are commemorating Winnie Ewing's historic victory in the Hamilton by-election of 1967 marking the first significant parliamentary breakthrough for SNP in peacetime, is this correct

I'm afraid facts don't care about your feelings
27% of white Britons say they don't feel well represented in advertising in terms of their race, with Reform MP Sarah Pochin causing a row on the subject

White Britons
Well represented: 65%
Not well represented: 27%

Ethnic minority Britons
Well: 42%
Not well: 51%

Back from 48hrs in Glasgow. Spending time with community as we gathered to remember Keith McIvor aka. JD Twitch of Optimo Music and one half of DJ duo, Optimo Espacio. It was a profoundly moving memorial to a beautiful human. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. To the stars Keith✨

He'd be struck off this immediately if he became a Catholic btw
fun fact: it remains the case that if the Princes William and Harry and their kids all died in some kind of freak yacht accident or something then Andrew Mountbatten Windsor would officially be made King

Hi Lisa Nandy! I’m a BAFTA winner from a small town. Instead of asinine questions like this, why not tell us how we can continue to make a living in the eviscerated creative sector over which you notionally preside?

I'd actually read that the livinh arrangements of the paedophile formerly known as Prince was to be funded from the King's private estate, and not the crown estate, which of course also isn't funded directly by the government and so I'm sure he earned it all by himself by like saving up an that
Except mostly he doesn't, it's revenue from the Crown estates. Which you don't own no matter what kind of republican cobblers you tell yourself.
And as a PUNISHMENT he will be FORCED to use his ORDINARY FIRST NAME followed by a FAMILY NAME and he will be COMPELLED to live in this very VERY NICE HOUSE that is A BIT LESS MASSIVE than the last house, and it will be PAID FOR by his brother who gets his money from YOU

How are the right of the GPEW handling the current Polanski surge? The centrist tendency was roundly defeated in the leadership election, so are they now getting behind him? I've not seen any of the wrecking that characterised the Labour right under Corbyn, would seem to be a major strength if so.

nice wee thread of scots explaining that basically everyone is their auntie
I called my mum's cousin my uncle. He was my uncle. His kids are my cousins. I also had multiple family friends who were my aunties and uncles, some at least as significant as blood relations. Honestly I thought everyone did this. Very funny to pretend this is a gotcha.
In a bit of a tense moment, one of the La Mega co-hosts presses Mamdani on why he "lied" about his "aunt" having been scared to ride the subway after 9/11 while wearing a hijab.

Mamdani says it was "not a lie" because he refers to his father's cousin as his "aunt."
