The people who spent years defending and even lionizing Kyle Rittenhouse and Ashli Babbitt now want us to believe that an unarmed mother in her car and a disarmed nurse were domestic terrorists who deserved to be murdered by law enforcement.

I was a sensitive kid. I loved cats. I had OCD, undiagnosed.

When I was 9, a fraternity brother tortured a cat to death in my hometown. The details even now are beyond imagination. archive.is/xdmUL

I was traumatized for years from reading the news story.

The torturer? Now the head of the NRA.

Snap elections, confidence votes, proportional representation, so many boring electoral mechanisms that I wish we had in this country
the snap election is one of those boring ass electoral system design elements that turns out to have immense political implications
It just now strikes me that the United States, unlike every other democracy in the world, has never ever ever had an early presidential election. This seems like a problem? Like you need to have an institutionalized path for designating an entire administration illegitimate and voting for a new one?

Since July, I've tracked at least 2,300 cases in which federal judges have ruled ICE has illegally detained people without bond or due process.

This is one that stands out:

This is a white supremacist paramilitary operation. Their goal—their stated goal!—is to force America to submit to the President's racist domineering vision for the country.

The sooner everybody starts confronting it on the terms that they themselves have stated, the better.

I can't put into words the feeling of watching our government, a hive of evil antisocial filth, the absolute worst humanity has to offer, colliding with the best. Ordinary people trying to help each other, risking everything to stand up for what's plainly, unambiguously fair and right. It's unreal

This is who they're trying to falsely smear as a terrorist and assassin.

I think it's kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Cities like Minneapolis are hard because you activate everyone at once, cities like LA are hard because the sheer volume of ground you have to cover makes it impossible.
I've been thinking about this, and I almost wonder if they're having a harder time *because* they've attacked a smaller city: the presence and ubiquity of the surge means that they're impossible to ignore, which is forcing the city at large to respond as a whole rather than in blocs
This is perhaps slightly off-color and a little too "big picture" for a day when something so horrifying has happened, but it is startlingly to me just how over their skis and pushed to the limits the feds are by one medium sized urban area.

we actually do have gun control in this country. the restriction is it’s illegal if you’re anywhere to the left of that fat toad in hungary, and having a gun under those circumstances is grounds for summary execution
DHS told Fox News the suspect was armed with a gun, which has been recovered by federal agents.
We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details. We ask the public to remain calm and avoid the immediate area.-City of Minneapolis

This is one of those things that in another administration couldve been a months long scandal if the media wanted it to be. call it AgentGate. What did Bondi know and when did she know it? Weeks of opinion pieces etc etc.
Breaking NYT:

The FBI agent who sought to investigate the federal immigration officer who fatally shot Renee Good has resigned from the bureau, according to two people familiar with the matter, after leadership pressured her to discontinue a civil rights inquiry into the officer.
