Is the #Maduro abduction really a “war for oil”, as many seem to believe? Unlikely. Venezuelan oil is low-quality, infrastructure-heavy, slow to exploit, in an already oversupplied market. Is it about democracy? Obviously not. What remains is the pornography of fascist power.

Warum ist das kein Riesenthema? Wenn die CSU sich durchsetzt und Bundesregierung tatsächlich das Verbandsklagerecht der Umweltverbände abschafft, ist das der schlimmstmögliche Anschlag auf Umwelt und Menschen mit Folgen, die gar nicht abzuschätzen sind.

Denke, das war's dann mit dem Völkerrecht. Niemand von Gewicht mehr da, der es aufrechterhalten könnte. Die Welt zerfällt, und Europa ist einmal mehr schlecht vorbereitet. Gute Politik würde erklären, einordnen und klare Linien ziehen. Stattdessen wird laviert und mit unterschiedlichem Maß gemessen.

Der US-Präsident kündigt völlig offen an, #Venezuela gnadenlos auszuplündern (Oil, Oil, Oil) und erstmal als Kolonie fremdzuverwalten, und die EU und der Bundeskanzler sind sich in der Bewertung der Lage noch nicht ganz sicher, weil ist ja alles ganz schön komplex. Was für ein historisches Versagen.

Europa könnte der letzte Hort des Westens sein und beweisen, dass Freiheit und Gleichheit Werte sind, die uns stärken und erfolgreich machen. Aber dafür bräuchte es einen Bundeskanzler, der Völkerrechtsverletzungen immer kritisiert und sich für ein Ende der Gewalt auf allen Kontinenten einsetzt.

Verstehe. Ein Land ohne UN-Mandat zu bombardieren, den Präsidenten zu entführen und gleichzeitig anzukündigen, dass man nun das Kommando in dem besagten Land übernehme, ist „rechtlich komplex“. Russland und China werden sich die Hände reiben. Neben der Tat an sich ist das Lavieren unsäglich.

Liberals who are now cheering Trump for bombing Caracas and abducting Maduro should realize that Greenland will be next. This is might-is-right imperialism plain and simple and if this remains uncontested (as is likely to happen) there will be no way to stop Trump and his fascist administration.
