If there's a chance of anything resembling democracy next then what's on offer has to be more than voting for representatives. It will have to look like control of the economy, ownership of our infrastructure, democratic planning of how we survive the climate catastrophes to come.
I think that people don’t comprehend that the state has been unapologetically beating young people’s asses basically nonstop & charging us with massive crimes for protesting since at least Occupy Wall Street & growing up like that has a chilling effect on the way people engage with democracy

Unpleasant thought: assuming the victims pull through, will they go after them as “domestic terrorists” who tried to hit the shooter, to support their narrative?
If this is true it’s an entirely predictable outcome of the admin signaling that they’ll loudly support this defense anytime one of their goons shoots someone in a car
The source that informed me of this said the Border Patrol officer in question claimed the victims were trying to run him over in their car, which is why he shot.

i think it is ok to reiterate that the victim as a us citizen. yes, noncitizens are equally entitled to human rights. but also, it's important to illustrate how ice isn't about immigration at all
