Identity, whether gender or nationality or any other, is an individual choice; fluid, contingent, and perhaps multiple. This is the only way to live at peace in a Free society, and is therefore a non-negotiable demand on every State, backed by force.

Unlike you, I can read and that’s why I know what the constitution says.
Trump on Ilhan Omar: "I look at somebody who comes from Somalia...and she comes in and tells us how to run our country. 'The Constitution says this, the Constitution says that.' The whole thing is crazy."

The blunt truth is that the Great Lakes of North America are Eldritch Horrors. And yet, we have built the prosperity of two great nations on our ability to conduct commerce across them, despite our frail bodies being physics, not biology, whilst subject to the energy scales of their power.

People are looking for simple narratives, but the simplest narratives are going to be wrong, or at least incomplete. E.g., Fetterman and Kaine live within driving distance of DC, they wouldn't join the Cave Caucus just on air travel meltdown alone.
How long till we learn American, United & Delta worked the phones on Senate Dems?

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

There's a straight line from people deciding that "genocide" was going to be the word for everything bad, and Israel being free to escalate to actual crimes against humanity in Gaza.
I think at some point we're going to have to have a reckoning on how the memefication of "genocide" and "genocidaire" as extremely bad and harmful for pretty much everyone except Trump.

In a completely roundabout horseshoe way, the 10-year tax abatement did create tons of new housing, which also made it the singlemost YIMBY policy the city has ever done
This article is great. Trickle-down, “abundance,” market solutions like ending parking requirements won’t work. But what will work? Rent control. Coops. Let’s look to nearby cities for solutions like that – for example…*checks notes*…Philly’s no-strings-attached 10-year tax abatement for developers!

this is decent politics if you have the expectation it will be rejected, imo
SCHUMER is on the floor now making this offer to end the shutdown:
Clean CR
Bipartisan "minibus" of approps bills
1-year ACA funding extension
Bipartisan cmte to negotiate on health care
"This is a reasonable offer that reopens the government, deals with health care affordability."

BREAKING: Pennsylvania is now driving out November SNAP benefits.
After we won in court yesterday, we moved quickly to start getting benefits loaded on EBT cards and out the door — and we're working to get every Pennsylvanian currently waiting for federal food assistance benefits what they're owed.

100% correct. The Dem ads about Trump weren't just "orange man bad." They were: I'm focused on lowering costs while my GOP opponent is serving Trump, who is raising costs with tariffs, canceling infrastructure, etc.
The bizarre media narrative that Dems must choose between anti-Trump and affordability politics reflects a broad reluctance to accept that Trump is really unpopular. The way forward is a fusion of the two. They are often one and the same. 8/

Well, maybe both isn't necessary (there's no possible good outcome where e.g. Japan isn't at least partially dependent on food imports), but you'd damn well better be running up the score on at least one.
your country should be massively overprovisioned for food and electricity or you have done it wrong
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

These are terrible numbers, if you're Sen. Frank Farry and your hand is still on the knife protruding from between SEPTA's shoulder blades.
Dems have swept all five row offices in the crucial swing county of Bucks County, PA, by about a 56-44 margin, including my longtime friends Joe Khan and Danny Ceisler being elected District Attorney and Sheriff, respectively. We swept all four open common pleas judgeships. This is a great night.

Thread. Never get financial advice from tiktok.
This is such a pernicious piece of disinformation I got out of bed to type this thread with a real keyboard. First off I strongly recommend against withdrawing your money from a bank because TikTok told you to. It's a giant waste of your time. Second: don't trust a man that drinks blue Gatorade Zero
@peark.es is it true are the banks out of money? Should we run to the bank and withdraw our money?
