We interviewed Will Stancil on the pod last year. My takeaway: he is unapologetically “liberal” and sincere enough in his beliefs that he’s willing to argue with just about anyone to defend them. That rubs people a certain way, sure. But the hate he gets is wildly disproportionate… he’s just a guy.
This picture - and the fact someone made a whole meme about him - basically sums up what I have seen.

Based on everyone's responses, he posts divisive takes and beefs constantly? That's it?
I will let others give the long, deep lore explanation.

the TLDR version in a single picture:

This isn't true.

Patriot Front has held several demonstrations since Trump took office, like the mobilization in Austin last month.

Just because you didn't see something on your feed doesn't mean it didn't happen.

this is very much not the core of the issue. we tolerate all sorts of biological advantages and disadvantages in sports. the real fundamental question here is: why is this one different than the others?

Trump is threatening to invoke the Insurrection Act in response to anti-ICE protests in Minneapolis. We used our dashboard to see when that's come up before on Truth Social, the microblogging platform Trump owns.

We saw three major spikes since January 2024. Here's a quick thread with the context.

elected democrats who want their constituents to remain non-violent in their protests of these abuses must actually offer a path for ending the abuses non-violently. they currently are not as a party and it’s a major problem.
🚨WHOA. The El Paso Medical Examiner says it will rule the death of a 55-year-old Cuban man at ICE's "Camp East Montana" tent camp as a homicide.

He was allegedly choked to death by a guard during a "struggle" after he refused to enter a housing unit without his medications.

Over the weekend, the White House and the Department of Homeland Security shared posts with a song, "We'll Have Our Home Again."

I dug into the group that performed and popularized it. Its cofounder said his goal was to create "the seed of an eventual government." www.splcenter.org/resources/ha...

Multiple accounts run by DHS share references to “We’ll have our home again” song, popularized by a white nationalist group, with a link to join ICE.

I was in the midst of preparing a Morning Memo arguing that Minneapolis is shaping up to be the catalyzing moment that Trump was looking for to justify doing what he has wanted to do since his 1st term: invoke the Insurrection Act...when he posted exactly that:

They literally always accuse protesters of being paid because 1) it shifts the terrain of the debate and 2) it reassures their base that no one legitimately holds a contrary position. They take comfort in thinking that anyone who disagrees with Trump is either brainwashed or a cynic.
ICE keeps saying the people protesting it are being paid without any evidence, but we have receipts showing that the people *defending* ICE are absolutely being paid.

And yet we only hear lies about the former on cable news.
relevant to the debate over whether we should keep funding DHS without reforms and accountability for how out of control their spending is

Our researchers found at least 450 posts on Telegram dating back to 2020 that shared the song mentioned in this reporting.

Nearly all the posts we found were from explicitly neo-Nazi and white supremacist channels. And a review of our datasets found it hasn't circulated much outside those circles.

The Minneapolis mayor and police chief do not get it. By admonishing protesters, they are telling the WRONG PEOPLE to de-escalate and remain peaceful. They literally told everyone to go home tonight.

This is not going to solve their problem.

The Labor Department in recent days has done multiple posts echoing QAnon phrases. QAnon influencers in response have declared vindication.

One of them wrote the department "is Q posting. … This is not debatable now. If you like it, cool. If you don’t like it, too bad. It’s happening."

When we say "explicitly neo-Nazi" we mean channels that fly swastikas and praise Hitler. That's the zone of internet where DHS is apparently finding inspiration for their X posts. It's ultra unlikely they would have ever encountered that song if they weren't in that space, imo.
