- apartheid only officially ended in 1991
- schools segregation is on the rise (see: charter schools). brown vs. board of education never included a plan to force places to comply with desegregation so it was almost bound to fail.

I wish websites like goodreads didn't exist. Thoughtful media criticism is good but the model of everyone in the world giving a star-rating and that being compiled into an overall score is so toxic. Even worse that there's no way for an author to opt out of having a profile made of them.
