It seems bizarre to me that US law will exclude evidence from an illegal search and seizure yet will somehow force a person who was seized illegally to face prosecution

If "fruit of the poisonous tree" is inadmissible, how is the tree itself permitted to be part of the case

When the LAPD arrests a dude at a gas station they don’t take over the gas station and use it to gas up all the cop cars tho
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why wasn't congressional authorization necessary?

RUBIO: It wasn't necessary because this was not an invasion. We didn't occupy a country. This was an arrest operation.

I don’t know exactly how to do it besides a boycott-which might prove impossible

But we have to figure out some way to make sure any company that tries to take advantage of Venezuela with Trump can’t profit from their callous opportunism
REP. GOLDMAN: “Trump promised oil executives if they gave him $1 billion for his campaign, he’d do right by them. They gave about $500 million. This is a massive gift in violation of international law, essentially just co-opting an entire country's natural resources for the benefit of 🇺🇸 Companies.”

I’d love to see a court order from a US judge which grants the Trump administration authority to invade Venezuela, abduct its head of state, install a puppet government and make the country a colony so America can steal their oil

(Spoiler alert-no US court has the power to issue such an order)
STEPHANOPOULOS: Trump said the US is going to 'run Venezuela.' Under what legal authority?

RUBIO: We want a better future for the people of Venezuela

STEPHANOPOULOS: I'll ask again -- what is the legal authority?

RUBIO: We have court orders

Here's the thing too, legacy media keeps having him on repeatedly, WHEN they KNOW he'll say dumb shit like this and fail to call him out. So this is on them as well

That’s a back door attempt to legitimize America’s illegal invasion of Venezuela and avoid questions about the administration’s failure to seek Congressional approval before proceeding

Unfortunately for Rubio, Trump already called this “a war” and said the US might soon have “boots on the ground”

Is it me or is there no date on the indictment released yesterday? Thus far there's no arrest warrant shown, and SDNY is weeks behind on public news releases.

Did they have this in advance of the operation? How far in advance? If they did not, on what authority did they arrest Maduro's wife?

Cotton-the guy who cheered when Trump used troops against peaceful protesters during his first term-is essentially saying that America can invade any country any time it wants under any flimsy pretext if those nations don’t “meet our demands”

This isn’t diplomacy. It’s governance by thuggery
COTTON: If they don't want to follow in Maduro's footsteps, they need to start meeting our demands. And it's always an option for our military to protect American citizens and interests

BASH: And the interest is Venezuelan oil fields in this case?

So, did Trump illegally invade any other countries last night while we were sleeping?

Mexico? Colombia? Greenland?

Or is it still only Venezuela?
Chris Murphy: "Over and over again we have seen these warmongering neocons, many of which have influence in this White House, cheerlead us into war under the guise of removing a very bad man. That ends up getting a lot of Americans killed."

Oh really ....
She knows about the oil Donnie & would have the Venezuelans interest

Trump just wants that OIL Maria...

Venezuela has the world’s largest oil reserves, but “our people don’t even have gas even to cook. That’s a disaster,” María Corina Machado told Fortune last year.

now that President Trump, former host of celebrity apprentice, has finally brought the coward dictator to justice, I think i can confidently say most Americans will weep with gratitude and joy, responding to the pollsters with common, joyful phrases such as “who is Maduro” and “wait you did what”

Maduro being terrible does not magically make Trump’s actions legal. International law still exists. US law still exists. Trump said it was about oil. Facts don’t cancel each other out.

The VP of Venezuela is now running the country with literally a gun pointed to her head by Trump’s military. That is how Trump will “run” Venezuela
KEY FACT: Trump doesn't want to bring freedom/democracy to Venezuela--he just wants a leader who will ensure Trump's oil oligarchs can make $. That's why Trump choose as new leader Delcy Rodríguez--Maduro's VP who helped Maduro oppress the people--over pro-democracy activist Maria Corina Machado.

As a retired military family, I am disgusted by their actions! You must remember your oath to the constitution & not the felon. Where is honor & & integrity that is sorely needed right now????
Remember when Congressional Democrats made that video telling the military not to follow illegal orders

Today they followed Trump’s illegal order to invade Venezuela and abduct Maduro

40 innocent civilians died in the attack
The New York Times has just confirmed that 40 civilians died in President Trump's invasion.

This is the aftermath in one area

Remember that time Trump said the U.S. military should use “dangerous” American cities as “training grounds” for troops? What do you think that training was for?

He’s been planning on occupying Venezuela indefinitely.

Venezuela is rich with heavy crude, and oil like that doesn’t extract fast.

Disastrous US intervention in El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala led to destabilized governments, corruption and violence which caused millions of immigrants to come to…America

There is scant evidence to believe that Trump’s illegal invasion of Venezuela will lead to a different result
Regime change in Afghanistan to remove the Taliban resulted in the return of the Taliban

Regime change in Iraq to remove Saddam Hussein resulted in the rise of Daesh (ISIS)

Regime change in Libya to remove Ghadaffi resulted in chaos and a decade plus of civil war

Am I missing something or is Sam Darnold is going to QB the best record in the NFL two years in a row?

Running another country involves using our tax funded money for US personnel to be engaged in long term action of some kind elsewhere. This requires an explicit congressional action.
