Jake stood up for his colleagues this week....Now he needs a little help. Please help if you can.

Jake was an incredible colleague to work with, producing incredible scoops and always happy to help out and share his expertise with everyone else in the newsroom. I'm obviously sad to see him go but equally looking forward to what he does next.
I was one of the four people who got canned.

In the interim, you can subscribe to my newsletter, Straight From The Hut. No paywall, but feel free to choose the pay to support model. I'm not going anywhere — the show goes on, and I'll be back on MSNBC Saturday night. straightfromthehut.substack.com

What shocked me most about the death threats sent to teachers in Arizona in recent days was that they didn't come from extremists on fringe platforms, these were sent from seemingly regular people on Facebook.

Here's a sample of what they sent:

An absolutely fascinating look at how tech platforms like Discord fuelled Nepal's revolution

It's a year since Trump and the GOP's sweeping victory in the 2024 elections, yet it seems the Democrats have learned very little about what they were doing wrong, as @makenakelly.bsky.social reports.
