I plan to share results publicly and will reflect the findings in my meetings, but i find it super interesting that the responses are showing Physician Training as the highest ranked for legislative priorities, even over trials. Maybe bc there is such a lack of information about ME compared to LC.
If you have ME/CFS (even without a formal diagnosis) & live in California, I would love if you could fill out & share this survey with your friends. I am trying to prepare for a few legislative meetings I have in January w/ some old colleagues.

I still remember when I tried to explain to a nurse how little I can be active per day and she said “but you’re not active right now you’re sitting down”
No it doesn’t work like that, for me not being active is lying on my bed in the dark
Yes. Folks without ME/CFS or POTS (or other types of dysautonomia) don't realize that sitting upright takes energy. Resting means lying down, minimal sensory input.

Folks with severe cases can hardly sit up at all. But even folks with moderate ME/CFS burn energy when sitting upright!

If you’re struggling to live with a person without autism, you’re not alone. We’ve gathered advice from family members of not-autism sufferers on how to make life easier for your relative without autism – but most importantly, for you.

Something I have to reiterate is that you are being straight up lied to about trans people and our healthcare on an unfathomable scale, this instance reporting is already being torn to shreds by other people commenting, but the frequency of this kind of reporting is astonishing, it's neverending.
You might think from the headline that this is a story about a trans kid suffering medical consequences from a large drug dose but nope! It is just an interview with an estranged father who is angry that his child happily transitioned.

I've said this before, but transphobia and ableism are so deeply intertwined, they're sometimes indistinguishable. Both are about eradicating non-normative bodies and minds from public life.

Transition is a matter of free will and freedom. Trans people are going to do it anyway and you cannot stop them.

We are full human beings with the right to decide our lives for ourselves and no one has a right to stand in the way of that.
one of the main reasons trans healthcare moved away from strict gatekeeping and toward informed consent & GAC is that trans ppl who were denied the means to transition would simply seek it out elsewhere
What did you think would happen when you restricted access to care?

Just heard disappointing news that @warren.senate.gov will co-sponsor the Kids Online Safety Act again despite overwhelming opposition from LGBTQ, human rights, abortion rights, and racial justice groups.

This is a horrific betrayal of her constituents, particularly trans youth and their families.

All politics is now just that one parks and rec episode where they rename fluoride tdizzle
There's a post over on Twitter that I've been laughing to myself about. Some right-wing guy is celebrating that a school took down "All-Gender" bathroom signs and replaced them with "Single Occupancy Restroom" signs. And like... it's the same thing, man. You're celebrating a pointless relabeling.
