POLICE turned violent.
The only difference between the Sydney protest and the peaceful protests everywhere else? NSW cops.
A protest against Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s visit is under way at Sydney’s Town Hall. Police have capsicum-sprayed dozens of protesters and members of the media as clashes turn increasingly violent. Live updates: shorturl.at/Wq8BD

Do. Not. Let. Them. Minimise. This.

Armed state violence against peaceful prayer is peak Islamophobia and vicious racism and. We have very few codified constitutional freedoms and this is almost certainly unconstitutional. They are officers of the law.
Extraordinary footage. Police pulling off people engaged in peaceful prayer.

I say this as someone who was there, it was pretty clear that the Herzog protest was proceeding peacefully and NSW Police were largely responsible for inflaming conflict with protesters. Initially by the poor way they restricted movement around Town Hall, and then by things like this…

the police presence at Town Hall is unfuckingbelievable. They are deep inside the station, stopping and searching people at the top of the stairs from the platform. Absolutely off the charts I have never seen anything like it and I have protested for over 40 years.

Had a ‘Fast & Furious’ moment with Kid during the driving lesson.

He confused the brake and pressed hard on the accelerator while reversing on a curve in an open area.

“BRAKE! BRAKE! BRAKE! BRAKE!”

He did eventually find the brake

Why Victoria is prone to 'some of the scariest fires' in the world
Some of the world's most destructive bushfires take place in the southern state. Its unique mix of fierce winds, high fuel loads and rugged terrain are to blame.

The level of disappointment I feel for the Australian government supporting & enabling Isaac Herzog's visit is immeasurable. What happened at Bondi was a horrific terror attack & our government responds by inviting a man who incited & supported genocide to comfort the victims. Make that make sense?
