Shout out to the good #yeg dude in the white United Rentals pickup. You flicked on your hazards, jumped out, and helped a stuck person in a wheelchair get across the street by the Royal Alex before the light changed on him and he would’ve been at risk of being hit. 🖖

That nurse and her hospital should be humiliated right now. I doubt that they are. She knew she was being recorded.

(I’ll add that feeling pressure in your rectum is a drop-everything-baby-is-here-now situation, which every nurse knows.)

Here’s how you actually handle this:

this is a very important part of her legacy, her support for Palestine. one of the things i will always remember is that one of Dr. Refaat Alareer’s last liked posts on Twitter before it turned into x and removed like history is a photo of Alice.
The official obits are rolling in. I hear the NYT mentions nothing about Alice Palestine support ofc. When she won her MacArthur, Alice got death threats from Zionists. They ruined her joy on a HUGE accomplishment. She told me the MacArthur ppl took down her personal statement & when she complained

Some good news. I reached out to their landlord for them and bought them a little time until Monday. I’ll be able to help them raise this over the weekend. Still at 75/560 but I’m chipping in 25 for them so it’s now at 100/560. Please help them if you’re able to.
Hey everyone. I’m helping another family from Lethbridge out this week. They’ve had a member of their family in the hospital due to pancreatitis and they’re still $560 short on their rent if anyone can help send to my PayPal/EMT tgtf1972@gmail.com Anything helps. They’re still in the hospital.

The incredible, indomitable, inspirational Alice Wong has left us.

I'm so grateful to have known her on social media, and so grateful for all the words she shared with us and all the actions she encouraged us into making.

May we live up to her example.

This time last year we learned that the homeless population was living in such dire circumstances they experienced rare lice infections were so bad they were transmitted to organ donation recipients. What did we do after that to respond to human beings in those conditions?

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

I was lucky enough to grow up in the north where I routinely saw the northern lights, yet I STILL get excited. Every. Single. Time.
Saw someone post that they didn’t want to take any aurora photos because it was cliché, everyone’s doing it

The sky’s full of mystical dancing lights, from particles miles above us, excited by a burp from our local star. You’re allowed to be excited about cool shit, and this is especially cool shit

The amount of misuse of AltText that I’ve seen today (even by high-profile accounts) is appalling. One pic of an email merely had “From: To: Subject:”, another simply rewrote the skeet instead of the actual content of the pic. Doing this is WORSE than not using AltText at all. DO BETTER, PEOPLE.
